Puerto Rican Streamer Surpasses Amouranth in Popular Female Streamer Rankings

VTubers have firmly established their presence in the streaming industry, emerging as the top female content creators. However, a new Twitch sensation is making waves and even outpacing Amouranth in popularity.

The rise of VTubers has significantly reshaped the streaming scene, with these digital avatar streamers dominating platforms like Twitch and YouTube throughout 2024. Key figures in this revolution include Miko, Pekora, and Ironmouse.

By the third quarter of 2024, Aqua’s impressive ascent placed her firmly at the top. A report from StreamsCharts indicates that her virtual concert in August drew an astonishing peak of 735,000 viewers.

Meanwhile, Miko, a popular Japanese VTuber, reached 170,000 peak viewers during her own 3D concert—a personal best for her.

In an impressive display, 22-year-old Puerto Rican streamer Alondrissa captured the highest viewership for a non-VTuber in Q3, peaking at over 150,000 viewers. Her stream, similar to the others, focused on music and featured the rapper Young Miko.

Contrarily, Amouranth broke her own records in July with 121,000 viewers tuning in to watch her unbox Disney trading cards, showcasing a departure from the music-centric streams dominating the charts.

The remainder of the top ten most-viewed list consists exclusively of Japanese VTubers streaming on YouTube. Notably, Alondrissa’s viewership surpassed that of notable non-VTubers like Canadian Valorant player Kyedae, Emiru, and singer Maddison Beer, with more than double their peak numbers.

As 2024 approaches its conclusion, it will be intriguing to observe if any new contenders can break into the top ten or if VTubers will maintain their supremacy well into 2025 and beyond.

Recent trends suggest it will be a challenging feat. On October 27, Yuki Sakuna achieved a record during her debut stream, attracting 383,139 viewers. This remarkable figure not only marked the highest viewership for a VTuber debut but also ranked as the third most-watched VTuber stream to date.
