The evening of April 27th saw the release of Episode 15 of “Queen of Tears” , which was almost flawless except for the ending scene. Specifically, Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won) lost her memories after undergoing surgery and began to question Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) and her own family, all because of the deceitful actions of Yoon Eun-sung (Park Sung-hoon).
Despite her lack of memories, Hae-in remained oddly attached to Hyun-woo, constantly following him and meticulously observing his every move. These heartwarming moments provided comfort for viewers after the intense events of episode 14.
Despite the hopeful belief that the main couple would finally reunite after Hyun-woo’s exoneration and Hae-in’s recovery of her memories, the ending scenes were a letdown for everyone. As Hyun-woo made his way to see Hae-in once more, he tragically collapsed in the middle of the road after being struck by Eun-sung’s car.
Despite the upcoming conclusion of the drama with just one more episode, the main couple continues to face struggles and unresolved issues. A number of viewers took to social media to express their frustration, commenting things like, “I was praising episode 15 for resolving the conflicts quickly, but then the writer introduced another problem,”and “The emotional scene was ruined by the sudden car crash. The couple deserves a romantic moment after Hae-in recovers her memories.”
Some viewers expressed their frustration as well, stating, “Are you serious? The final episode is approaching and yet they are introducing new conflicts?”, “How are they going to resolve all of this in just two episodes?”, “The ratings were expected to surpass the top drama after episode 13, but the writer has consistently let down viewers”, “I doubt this drama can surpass the success of ‘Crash Landing on You’”, among others.
Despite a slight decline in ratings for episode 15, “Queen of Tears”is still unable to surpass the popularity of “Crash Landing on You.”With only one episode left, viewers are left wondering if “Queen of Tears”will be able to make a comeback and claim the title of highest-rated drama on tvN.
