After being asked about his decision to unfollow Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon on Instagram, GOT7 member Bambam shared the true reason behind his actions.
The newest installment of “Bam House”was released on June 14, 2024, on YouTube. TWICE’s Nayeon made a special appearance as a guest on this episode, where she and Bambam bonded over Thai cuisine. During the filming, the staff asked Bambam about his decision to unfollow Taeyeon.
Upon being asked this question, Bambam stated that he unfollowed Taeyeon in order to concentrate on his tour.
The idol elaborated, sharing that he often found himself perusing Taeyeon’s social media page. With her recent involvement in TikTok challenges, he found himself drawn to her content. Realizing that he was spending too much time on her account, Bambam made the decision to unfollow her in order to focus on his upcoming tour.

Upon hearing this, Nayeon was incredulous and exclaimed, “What?!”. She also remarked that Taeyeon must be Bambam’s ideal type for him to go to such lengths. However, Bambam clarified that while Taeyeon is not his ideal type, she has become his “standard”for comparison.
Immediately following the broadcast of the episode, the video of Bambam explaining his reason for unfollowing Taeyeon gained widespread attention on social media and online forums in South Korea. One popular tweet stated, “Do any of you also unfollow your favorite artist during exams? Bambam revealed that he had to prioritize his tour, leading to his decision to unfollow Taeyeon on Instagram.”

TheQoo, one of the most prominent South Korean online community forums, also featured a post titled “Bambam explaining the reason behind unfollowing Taeyeon on Instagram”.
People who commented on the post agreed that Bambam was incredibly funny, while some argued that his behavior was simply natural for him. Many also observed his strong affection for Taeyeon, pointing out that he went above and beyond even the most dedicated K-pop fans, and teased about his unrequited love for the Girls’ Generation star.
