A moderator from the well-known subreddit ‘LiveStreamFails’ has faced removal from his role after promoting a questionable reality show named ‘Million Dollar Fan.’
Beginning in January 2026, promotion for ‘Million Dollar Fan’ appeared prominently on the LiveStreamFails (LSF) subreddit. This surge in visibility coincided with endorsements from numerous popular streamers affiliated with the creator agency Mythic Talent, including notable Twitch personality ExtraEmily.
Designed to air on Amazon Prime, this reality show was slated to commence filming in November 2026 in Vancouver, Canada. Contestants would inhabit a sprawling “9, 000 square-foot luxury mansion” for a week, competing in various challenges for a staggering $20 million prize—surpassing even MrBeast’s game show that boasts over 40 Guinness World Records.
However, many in the streaming community raised alarm bells over the lucrative prize, prompting some to investigate further. During this inquiry, users uncovered troubling details on the show’s official website, which was registered in Iceland and displayed an AI-generated stock image as the representation of the promised mansion.

This controversy deepened when several well-known streamers distanced themselves from the project, which many labeled a potential ‘scam.’
By January 13, the official site for the show had vanished, now signaling that “this site can’t be reached.” The unraveling of the project ignited further scrutiny aimed at the moderator who had promoted the show on LSF.
Controversy Grows Surrounding ‘Million Dollar Fan’ on LSF
As the website disappeared, LSF users questioned moderator ‘stale2000′ about any financial incentives for endorsing the show, raising concerns about the authenticity of the project.
In response, ‘stale2000’ engaged with these queries below his pinned post, clarifying that he independently reached out to the production team because he believed in the show’s concept.“I thought the show was cool, and that’s it, ” he stated.

Community engagement included discussions between stale2000 and concerned users on the subreddit.
Despite his defense, stale2000 removed multiple critical comments before other moderators ultimately took down his pinned promotion.
Following an investigation by Reddit’s Code of Conduct team, he was relieved of his duties as a moderator. He subsequently shared his side of the story in a video emailed to Reddit CEO Spez, which quickly gained traction across social media platforms.
Call for Change from Removed LSF Moderator Amid Show Fallout
In his YouTube video posted on January 15, stale2000, whose real name is Brian, urged Spez to provide greater support to Reddit moderators. He emphasized that moderators wield significant influence on the platform and should be viewed as pivotal figures akin to celebrities.“Reddit moderators have power. They have influence, ” he proclaimed.
He continued, “Their control over millions of impressions daily often goes unnoticed, yet their contribution is vital for your $50 billion company.”
While defending himself against claims labeling the show a ‘scam, ’ he asserted that sufficient evidence to substantiate that claim had yet to surface. Additionally, he criticized YouTuber MoistCritikal for mocking the show in a video posted just before its website closure, contributing further to the backlash.
MoistCritikal’s Response to the Dismissed Moderator
Subsequently, MoistCritikal released a response video, declaring himself “at a loss for words” about the situation. He labeled stale2000 as “power hungry” and contended that his behavior justified his removal from moderation.
Expressing mixed feelings, he stated, “I feel bad for him because the position meant a lot. However, a talent agency for mods isn’t the solution. This has been a bewildering experience.”
Stale2000’s video rapidly amassed views on social media as of January 16, leading to widespread mockery of his appeal and appearance, which some considered a caricature of a stereotypical Reddit moderator.
Comments such as “This is peak Reddit moderator behavior” and “This may be the most cringeworthy video I’ve seen” encapsulate the audience’s reactions. One user humorously remarked, “Even the CIA couldn’t extract that from me, ” highlighting the absurdity of the situation.
As of now, there has been no additional news regarding ‘Million Dollar Fan, ’ leaving fans and former supporters like stale2000 anxiously seeking further updates.
