Amazon’s Prime Video has revealed that a live-action TV adaptation of Like a Dragon: Yakuza will be arriving on their streaming platform in the near future. This news has caught many off guard, as there was little mention or speculation about the show beforehand, and it is set to debut in just a few months.
Amazon revealed that the live-action adaptation of Like a Dragon will be available on Prime Video starting October 25, 2024. The series is set to have six episodes, each with a runtime of sixty minutes. The initial batch of episodes will premiere on October 25, 2024, followed by the remaining episodes on November 1, 2024. This announcement was made through a teaser poster on Prime Video’s Twitter channel.

“Masaharu Take, a critically acclaimed director, will be at the helm of the upcoming series starring Ryoma Takeuchi as Kazuma Kiryu, the lead character. The story will delve into Kiryu’s struggles and will be set in two periods, 1995 and 2005. Fans can catch the exclusive airing of the show on Prime Video in October, but will need to subscribe to the streaming platform.”
