Recently, a BBC documentary unveiled the messages exchanged in Jung Joon Young’s Kakao Talk group chat room, exposing the heinous crimes committed by him, Seungri, and other implicated artists.

On May 19, the BBC officially uploaded a documentary film, titled “Burning Sun: Exposing the secret K-pop chat groups,”on their official YouTube channel.

The hour-long video includes an interview with reporters Kang Kyung Yoon and Park Hyo Sil, the first to report on Jung Joon Young’s involvement in the “molka”case (illegally recorded videos). In the video, the woman who was a victim of sexual assault bravely comes forward to share her story, reliving the painful events of her past.

During the process, the identities of several major celebrities involved, including former BIGBANG member Seungri, were also revealed.

Despite the widespread awareness of the “Burning Sun Gate”incident, it is important to note that it began when a male clubgoer attempting to protect a woman from being sexually assaulted was unjustly assaulted by the staff and subsequently arrested by the police.

Despite netizens’ calls for a just investigation, it was discovered by authorities that the initial sexual assault case was linked to the club’s involvement in prostitution, police corruption, and drug trafficking.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Seungri, one of the club directors, was implicated in the scandal, along with several other prominent celebrities and police officials.

During the investigation, the case gained more attention when the police discovered a Kakao Talk group chat room that had been established by singer and actor Jung Joon Yoong in March 2016.

The group chat contained repulsive messages shared by the members, reliving the details of their crimes against their victims (rape, sexual assault), and even sharing actual clips of the offenses.

Despite committing a heartless and evil crime, Jung Joon Young showed no remorse for his actions. Along with Choi Jong Hoon (former F.T. Island), he gang-raped an intoxicated woman at a hotel. Disturbingly, the very next day, Jung continued with his scheduled fan signing event in Daegu, seemingly unaffected by the heinous act he had committed.

“The BBC released reconstructed messages (not the actual screenshots) discussing a drunk woman who seemed to have fallen and struck her head. Jung displayed no remorse and referred to it as the “most enjoyable night”of his life.”

A video was also released showing Seungri acting violently at a party, pulling a woman’s wrist. Despite her attempts to pull away, Seungri became angry and raised his voice and hand, urging her to remain quiet.

Despite being a member of BIGBANG, Seungri used the group’s name to gain power and demanded respect from a woman while intoxicated at a drinking party.

Despite being convicted of habitual gambling, prostitution brokerage, and embezzlement in the 2019 Club “Burning Sun”scandal and facing an unforgivable sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison, Seungri was recently released from jail.

Despite committing numerous sexual assault acts, Jung Joon Young and Choi Jong Hoon were both released from prison after serving only a fraction of their sentences – five years for Jung and two years for Choi. Additionally, many members of the groupchat were not convicted at all.
