On August 10, 2024, the official website and X (previously known as Twitter) account for Re:Zero season 3 revealed the third key visual, which showcases Subaru Natsuki and Emilia alongside other characters in the background. The highly anticipated sequel is scheduled to debut in October 2024, with its first episode being a 90-minute special. Fans in Japan can also catch an early screening of the episode in theaters on August 30, 2024.
Re:Zero season 3, produced by White Fox, will continue the story from the previous installment, which was divided into two parts. The first half, consisting of 13 episodes, aired from July 2020 to September 2020, while the second half, with 12 episodes, was released from January 2021 to March 2021.

New Key Visual for Season 3 of Re:Zero Features Subaru and Emilia in a Beautiful Scene
On Saturday, August 10, 2024, the official staff of Re:Zero season 3 released the third key visual. The visual features the main characters, Subaru Natsuki and Emilia, in a beautiful valley. Both characters are depicted with happy expressions and standing close to each other.
Among the others, the illustration also features Beatrice, Otto Suwen, and Garfiel Tinsel, Fredericka’s younger brother, in the background. Nevertheless, the main focus of the illustration lies on the striking chemistry between Subaru and Emilia.
The illustration has a catchphrase in Japanese, which, when translated into English, reads as the following:
“Stand up against the worst disaster no matter how many times.”
Apart from the visual, the official staff has also unveiled the design for the Blu-ray BOX of season 2. The illustration showcases Beatrice and Ram with tears in their eyes, and it has been created by Kyuuta Sakai, the character designer and chief animation director of the previous installment.
The 90-minute special premiere of the series will be released in October 2024. An advanced theatrical screening will take place in Japanese theatres starting August 30, 2024. International audiences can also watch the series as it airs in Japan through Crunchyroll’s streaming service.
Re:Zero Season 3 Cast and Staff
The anime features a familiar cast, including Yusuke Kobayashi as Subaru Natsuki, Rie Takahashi as Emilia, Kohei Amasaki as Otto Suwen, Satomi Arai as Beatrice, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Garfiel Tinsel, Chinatsu Akasaki as Felt, Yuichi Nakamura as Reinhard Van Astrea, and many others.
Masahiro Shinohara is at the helm of the series once again at White Fox Studios, with Masahiro Yokotani reprising his role as series composer. Haruka Sagawa has been brought on as the chief animation director and character designer, while Kenichiro Suehiro returns as the music composer.
The upcoming third season of Re:Zero will cover the fifth arc (volume 16) of the light novel, called The Stars That Engrave History. This season will feature Anastasia’s invitation to Emilia, Priscilla, Crusch, and Felt to the Watergate City of Priestella, where danger awaits.
