The official staff of Re:Zero has confirmed via a new trailer that season 3 will consist of 16 episodes. The first half, the Attack Arc (eight episodes), is scheduled to premiere on October 2, 2024 with a 90-minute special episode. The second half, the Counterattack Arc (eight episodes), will air in February 2025. This announcement was made on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

Simultaneously, the team revealed a new addition to the cast and offered a sneak peek of the season 3 finale song. It is worth mentioning that the show kicked off an early theatrical release in Japan on August 30, 2024, with a duration of two weeks. Season 3’s production is being handled by White Fox.

During the livestream event for the MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2024 on Sunday, September 1, 2024, the official staff revealed the second promotional video for season 3 of Re:Zero.

Based on the brief video, it has been announced that Re:Zero season 3 will follow a two-part release schedule with a total of 16 episodes. The initial installment, titled “Attack Arc,”is set to debut on October 2, 2024, on Tokyo MX, AT-X, and various Japanese networks, and will consist of eight episodes.

The Counterattack Arc of the anime will make its long-awaited comeback in February 2025, with eight new episodes set to air on the same channels. Fans in Japan can also catch the latest season on streaming platforms such as ABEMA and d Anime Store. For international viewers, Re:Zero season 3 will be available to watch on Crunchyroll.

In addition to announcing the format and release date, the second promotional video for Re:Zero season 3 also introduces a new cast.

The anime has welcomed Aoi Yuki as Capella Emerada Lugunica, one of the Deadly Sin Bishops responsible for Lust. Additionally, she holds the position of leader within the Witch Cult. Aoi Yuki-san shared a comment on the official site of the anime, encouraging fans to anticipate Capella’s “spectacular onslaught.”

The PV introduces viewers to Capella’s character and highlights her merciless personality. Along with Capella, the brief video showcases other characters from Deadly Sin Bishops including Regulus Corneas, Lye, and Sirus. Emilia’s appearance and role are also featured in the PV.

Additionally, the brief clip showcases the concluding theme song, NOX LUX by MYTH & ROID, while Konomi Suzuki will once again lend her vocals to the season 3 opening theme song, Reweave.

In addition to the trailer, the official team behind Re:Zero season 3 has also released a new visual showcasing the Deadly Sin Bishop characters. The illustration showcases Sirius (voiced by Chika Anzai), Lye, Capella (voiced by Aoi Yuki), and Regulus.

The cast of the anime includes Yusuke Kobayashi as Subaru Natsuki, Rie Takahashi as Emilia, Satomi Arai as Beatrice, Kohei Amasaki as Otto Suwen, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Garfiel Tinsel, Yuichi Nakamura as Reinhard Van Astrea, among others.

Masahiro Shinohara is in charge of directing season 3 at White Fox, while Masahiro Yokotani serves as the series composer. Haruka Sagawa is credited as both the chief animation director and character designer, with Kenichiro Suehiro serving as the music composer.

The third season of Re:Zero will continue with the fifth arc (volume 16) from the light novel, The Stars That Engrave History. In the upcoming installment, viewers will witness Subaru Natsuki’s journey to the Watergate City of Priestella, where he must confront the Witch’s Cult in order to rescue Emilia and her allies.
