RM and V Celebrate Military Discharge on Weverse

On June 10, RM and V made a memorable return to the public eye by going live on Weverse after completing their military service. RM opened the session by sharing, “I’ve finished 548 days of military service, ” as he greeted eager fans alongside V.

However, RM also candidly expressed that he was feeling under the weather, mentioning, “I caught a cold. It’s not severe, but my voice is a bit off. What’s frustrating is that during my final leave, I climbed stairs for two weeks straight and skipped lunch.” He described a restless night, remarking, “I went to bed at 2 a.m.yesterday, and tears just kept coming. My face was so swollen, and I felt wronged.”

Emotional Reflections on Military Service

During the live session, RM reflected on the complex emotions he experienced upon his discharge, noting, “Yesterday, I felt the full spectrum of human emotions—joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness.” Contrastingly, V shared his experience saying, “I teared up when my seniors were discharged, but when it was my turn, I didn’t cry.” He elaborated, “For a year and a half, I genuinely supported my friends’ dreams and thought about how I could help them. In the military, I was with friends from morning till night, which was a unique experience.”

RM compared his military life to his teenage years, stating, “At 17, I moved into a dorm in Nonhyeon-dong with 30 people. At 30, I did it again. It felt like being a trainee again.” He added, “For five or six years before enlisting, I was never scolded. But in the military, getting scolded and going through those experiences made me feel like I was starting over from scratch.”

Strengthened Bonds and Support Among Members

RM emphasized the new connections he formed during his service, stating, “I got close to friends who completed their service. I connected with hyungs, friends, and even my father in a new way, understanding things only military veterans would get.” In a surprising twist during the live, Jin made a special appearance, wearing a red ribbon, and joyfully announced, “I’m here to celebrate your discharge. I’m your gift!” RM shared that J-Hope had been there earlier, further highlighting the enduring camaraderie within BTS.

RM and V expressed their gratitude to Jin, acknowledging his hard work, to which Jin replied, “With the members gone, I had to step up. I’m counting on you guys, ” signaling excitement for BTS’s upcoming full-group activities once all the members have completed their service.

The Road Ahead for BTS

On the same day, both RM and V finalized their military commitments, while Jimin and Jungkook are set to conclude theirs on June 11. Additionally, Suga, currently serving as a social service associate, will complete his alternative service on June 21. This marks a significant moment as all members of BTS prepare to return to civilian life.
