If you’re looking to enhance your adventures in Hytale with superior armor, weapons, and tools, the journey begins with obtaining higher-quality ores. Among these, Mithril stands out as a rare and valuable resource that can significantly boost your gameplay. However, finding this coveted ore presents quite a challenge.
While the majority of ores are readily accessible across various biomes, Mithril is a notable exception. It can only be located in specific regions, making its acquisition a priority for players aiming to upgrade their gear. To assist you on your quest, here’s a comprehensive guide on how to get Mithril Ore in Hytale.
Locating Mithril Ore in Hytale

You can discover Mithril Ore primarily in zone four regions, with the Devastated Lands being a notable location. My experiences indicate that this is the only biome where I’ve successfully found Mithril, although it remains extremely scarce, making it one of the most elusive ores in the game.
There are two effective strategies for unearthing Mithril Ore:
- Exploring Around Lava Pools: Venture into the Cinder Wastes within the Devastated Lands. Here, Mithril Ore can often be found precariously positioned, such as on the edge of lava pools, making it challenging to mine safely.
- Defeating Skeleton Bosses: Another strategy involves confronting the large skeleton bosses that roam these regions. These formidable opponents are typically adorned in bronze armor and accompanied by smaller skeleton minions. They guard zones where Mithril Ore may be present, so defeating them is well worth the effort.

It’s important to note that these skeleton bosses drop randomized loot. While there’s no guarantee you’ll obtain Mithril from them, they typically yield rare items. For instance, a recent encounter secured me a Thorium Ingot alongside Mithril. If you do receive a Mithril Ingot, it comes pre-smithed, saving you the hassle of smelting.
Regardless of the method you choose to pursue, be aware that all encounters in zone four are perilous. Equip yourself with high-quality gear made from the best ores available, along with sufficient food supplies for healing. This preparation is critical given the dangers that lurk in these treacherous areas.
Keep in mind that each Hytale world is procedurally generated, resulting in differing locations for ore deposits across multiple players. To increase your chances of finding Mithril, look for dark purple patches on your map, which typically indicate the right areas to investigate.

Crafting Mithril Ingots
Once you have successfully mined Mithril Ore, you can transform it into Mithril Ingots using a Furnace. To operate the Furnace, you will need some form of fuel, such as Sticks or Wood. Additionally, you’ll need to craft a basic Workbench to create the Furnace, as its crafting recipe is only accessible through this workstation.
