Revisiting Early Struggles

In a poignant moment, leader Soyeon recounted a challenging instance involving Shuhua during her trainee days, stating, “Shuhua once cried in front of me during her trainee days.” Shuhua corroborated this, recounting, “I struggled dramatically during an evaluation, which nearly led me to give up. I was so disheartened that I couldn’t stop sobbing, and Soyeon comforted me with a hug.”

Challenges with New Members

The atmosphere shifted when the discussion turned to Miyeon. Soyeon candidly shared her feelings about Miyeon joining the group, expressing that it felt as though Miyeon was stepping in to fill the roles of their main vocalists: “When Miyeon joined, it felt like she was replacing our main vocalists. We approached her with caution and were even a bit cold.”

Miyeon responded openly, stating, “You guys were definitely cold. Especially Yuqi and Minnie.” Minnie, acknowledging her past demeanor, laughed and admitted, “I was the worst. Being the eldest and the main vocalist, I felt threatened when someone my age came in holding the same role.”

Transition from YG to CUBE

Miyeon elaborated on her transition from YG Entertainment to CUBE Entertainment, explaining the challenges she faced.“After spending five years at YG, I faced a chilly reception at CUBE. It was a tough environment, and if you weren’t in the debut group, access to electronic devices was restricted. I insisted on needing a laptop for practice, but people questioned why I could use one on my first day, ” she recounted.

A Message from BLACKPINK’s Lisa

In an unexpected turn of events, Minnie revealed that Lisa from BLACKPINK, a close acquaintance of Miyeon, personally reached out to her with a message: “Lisa messaged me saying, ‘My friend is joining your company. Please take care of her.’”
