During the weekend marathon, Boudewijn Dominicus, a dedicated amateur runner from the Netherlands, made headlines by completing the 26.2-mile course while impeccably dressed in formal wear. Battling typical spring temperatures hovering around 70-72°F in London, he impressively clocked in at three hours, 21 minutes, and 42 seconds.

This time not only highlighted Dominicus’s athletic capability but also earned him the distinction of setting a new world record for the fastest marathon run by a man in formal attire.

Boudewijn Dominicus is no stranger to the world of marathon running; he has previously participated in several races, often with a creative twist to his attire. Notably, he once completed a race in a Fred Flintstone costume, showcasing his fun-loving spirit.

Interestingly, the London Marathon also featured a plethora of unique participants this year. Another runner finished the marathon only two seconds faster than Dominicus. Alongside them were a man carrying a fridge, a pair of friends dressed as dinosaurs, an individual portraying Daddy Pig from the beloved children’s show *Peppa Pig*, and even a competitor in a Santa Claus outfit — all braving the unseasonably warm conditions.
