Saja Boys Surpass BTS on US Spotify Charts

As of July 3, 2025, the Saja Boys have claimed the title of the most successful K-Pop band on US Spotify, primarily driven by an impressive blend of music sales and streaming statistics.

This breakthrough puts the Saja Boys ahead of BTS, a legendary Korean pop group, highlighting how their hit single “Your Idol” has resonated with fans.

This song is one of just two original tracks performed by the Saja Boys in K-Pop Demon Hunters, alongside another catchy number called “Soda Pop.”

Songwriter EJAE, who has previously collaborated with prominent K-Pop acts such as TWICE and aespa, shared insights about the creative development of the film’s music during a recent interview with Forbes. She described the extensive creative process: “There were so many versions of all the songs… I did around 57 demos for just one track.”

For the track “Your Idol, ” EJAE drew inspiration from the musical styles of EXO, particularly their songs “MAMA” and “Obsession.” She explained, “The song explores the theme of fan obsession, employing a twist on the traditional idol narrative.”

EJAE added an eerie undertone to the song by manipulating the audio, saying, “I reversed the audio and harmonized it to evoke a chapel-like ambiance. This theme of idolization has a haunting quality to it.”

Given the film’s remarkable success, co-director Maggie Kang hinted at potential plans for a sequel, indicating that the phenomenon of K-Pop Demon Hunters is far from over.
