Scrap Reveals Opinion on Black Ops 6 Skill Gap and Movement Mechanics

Professional Call of Duty League competitor Thomas ‘Scrap’ Ernst recently shared his thoughts on the new omnimovement feature in Black Ops 6, discussing whether it will significantly elevate the skill gap between professional and casual gamers.

Omnimovement represents a groundbreaking addition to the Call of Duty series, enabling players to dive, slide, sprint in any direction, all while keeping their weapon aimed.

This innovation is expected to lead to more impressive gameplay from movement specialists like JoeWo, Shotzzy, and Aydan, with many anticipating an even wider skill gap as a result.

However, not everyone agrees with this outlook. In a Q&A session released on October 22, just prior to Black Ops 6’s release, Scrap expressed his differing opinion.

“To be honest, I believe the skill gap will remain similar to last year,” Scrap remarked while referencing Modern Warfare 3. “The top players will likely continue to dominate, while those perceived as less skilled may not improve significantly.”

“I still think it will mirror last year’s landscape. The previous game included diving and other elements that the upcoming game will also feature, so I expect the skill gap to remain quite consistent, even if some may anticipate drastic changes.”

In another segment of the video, Scrap shared his aspirations for the forthcoming season with his LA Thieves squad, which has already garnered attention as a strong contender for championship titles this year.

He also expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of winning under the leadership of former pro Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag as CEO, eager to witness Nadeshot’s reaction if the team successfully claims a trophy.

While the official schedule for the Black Ops 6 CDL season, including start dates and venues, has yet to be announced, early speculation suggests that online matches may commence before the end of the year.
