Scrapped Call of Duty Future Warfare Game Now Playable as Massive Leaks Continue

The unreleased COD game Future Warfare has been leaked and is now available to the public through a torrent file.

In the early 2010s, after developing Guitar Hero for many years, Neversoft Entertainment was presented with the chance to propose a Call of Duty game. The company came up with NX1, also known as Future Warfare, a game set in the distant future.

Although Neverseft had developed a campaign prototype and multiplayer content, Activision ultimately abandoned the project. Nevertheless, numerous fundamental concepts from the project were eventually incorporated into COD: Ghosts, released in 2013.

Numerous leaks for Future Warfare have been circulating since late 2023, showcasing gameplay footage, revealing multiplayer details, and offering a glimpse at the menus.

According to Forward 2, a well-known leaker on Twitter, COD: Future Warfare has been leaked and is now available to fans through a torrent file and emulator of the late 2011 build.

In early 2024, leaked gameplay footage and screenshots revealed several map and mission names that were circulating online.

Recently, a more comprehensive collection of maps has emerged. Along with previously revealed locations such as Bin Laden’s Compound, Neversoft also created preliminary concepts for Seaport, Skylab, and Subyard.

Multiplayer lead Brian Bright shared on Twitter and other social media platforms that Neversoft Entertainment was able to experiment with low gravity and familiarize themselves with the technology used in Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 (2009) during the December 2011 build of Future Warfare.

In total, Neversoft created a few story missions and various online-focused content before Activision ended the project. Therefore, players who are able to utilize the torrent file should not anticipate a complete Call of Duty experience.

Despite being one of nearly a dozen cancelled Call of Duty games, Future Warfare is still an intriguing piece of history, as it has only been revealed through leaks and limited information.
