Season 3 of The Bear could well be the last

Season 3 of The Bear could well be the last

The series on Disney+ is preparing for its return, between filming and award ceremonies, but the third season may not lead to a fourth.

That’s it, the Chicago cooks are preparing before the shot scheduled for June 2024. After a first broadcast in 2022, it was however difficult to expect such phenomenal success for the dramatic comedy created by Christopher Storer.

Because the FX production caused a sensation in the last award ceremonies, for its season 2: between Emmys and Golden Globes, it was everywhere. The raw and human story of Carmen, Sydney, Richie and the others, brought to light by a deceptively spontaneous production, was a hit.

Obviously, the announcement of a season 3 delighted the spectators. But it could also be that this is the last adventure of The Bear’s team.

Season 4 of The Bear may never see the light of day

Despite the success of the series, reports indicate that creator Christopher Storer has agreed to work on three seasons, so the possibility of a season 4 would be more than uncertain at this point.

Indeed, according to Reel Chicago, if FX wants a season 4 of The Bear to materialize, the idea could prove more complicated than expected: Christopher Storer had initially committed to three chapters, with the possibility of leaving then concentrate on his other projects.

At this stage, the author has agreed to deliver additional episodes, on condition of filming them during the filming of season 3. Nothing says, however, if these episodes will extend the next season, or if they will be used for a fourth. To find out, you will have to wait for an official announcement from FX.

The Bear: an award-winning series that doesn’t give up?

Obviously, the ten awards obtained by the series at the 2024 Emmys and its notable appearance at the Golden Globes can be seen as encouragement to continue the adventure.

Especially since season 3 itself seems loaded with significant events, as revealed by a set photo showing characters at a funeral.

The end of season 2 of the series suggested the death of Marcus’ mother. And more generally, the atmosphere in the restaurant was going downhill, the characters bumping into each other while the pressure of the first service subsided: will Richie stay? Will Carmen give up after her breakup and abandon the idea of repaying her debt?

The Bear returns in June 2024, sharing its slot with three other big series also particularly awaited by spectators. And to wait before the main course, the first two seasons are still available on Disney+.
