Acquiring Candy for Zygarde is a challenging task in Pokemon Go, but some trainers have shared helpful tips to obtain them quickly.
Obtaining all forms of the Gen 6 Legendary Zygarde in Pokemon Go was a daunting task, requiring players to farm its cells. However, recent updates have simplified this process. Nonetheless, trainers now face a new challenge in acquiring Candies for this iconic Pokemon.
Without Candies, it becomes nearly impossible to strengthen Zygarde 100% or any of its variations, greatly hindering one’s chances of victory in the Ultra and Master Leagues and causing frustration for all involved.
Reddit user ‘CallMePoro’ is among the players who have expressed frustration with the high Candy requirements for leveling up their Zygarde 10%. In a post, they stated, “I am not willing to walk 5360KM just to level this guy up.”

The post sparked discussion among players about the difficulty of grinding for Zygarde in Pokemon Go, but some users offered helpful suggestions for obtaining Candy without much hassle. For example, one user pointed out that using a Poffin regularly can decrease the required distance by 2680km.
One player suggested, “For each rare candy, you need to walk 20km. To collect candy quickly, create a strong team for the great league and participate in 1 star raids in your area. Additionally, it is advised to use Poffins at around 19.5-20km to obtain 2 candies instead of just one.”
A fan pointed out that obtaining just three Rare Candies from a single Raid is equivalent to walking 60km. Another popular tip for acquiring Rare Candies was through the Go Battle League, particularly by using the tanking strategy.
“According to a PvP player, purposely losing matches for a few days can result in easier matches and has proven to be an effective strategy for farming large amounts of Rare Candy in GBL.”
Once you have collected the usual Candy for Zygarde, you will be able to obtain XL Candies and Cells by exploring Routes in Pokemon Go. In the meantime, you can strengthen your teams by capturing the Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings forms of Necrozma during Go Fest 2024.
