“Pokemon Go players can increase their Stardust supply by capturing specific spawns that provide extra amounts of this valuable resource. Although this particular species is rare in most areas, many players have shared useful strategies for locating it.”
Shellder, the fan-favorite Water type from Gen 1, is highly coveted for its ability to reward players with a generous 1000 Stardust when caught. Recently, on the Pokemon Go subreddit, a user was unable to find any Shellders, prompting several fans to come to their aid.
According to users, the Aquatic Paradise event, scheduled to end on July 9, 2024, presents a unique opportunity to encounter Shellder. One trainer noted that the Pokémon can only be found through Incense during this event.
During the event, it is highly likely that Shellder will spawn more frequently when using a regular Incense, along with rare Pokémon such as Lapras and Frillish. However, some have noted that the chances of encountering Shellder are significantly lower when using a Daily Incense.
When a few trainers reported catching more than five Shellder while using an active Incense, others expressed concern that they might not come across any after the event was over.
Despite this, there is no need to worry as players have discovered another way to catch this Stardust-heavy Pokemon: “They can be found in the wild in the beach biome.”
It is important to understand that a beach biome does not necessarily have to be situated close to the ocean. Any body of water, such as lakes or rivers, in your vicinity falls under this classification. These areas are abundant in Water-type Pokémon, making it easier to find Shellder.
Furthermore, you can also attempt to place a Rain Lure Module at a PokeStop and catch a Shellder outside of the event, although a beach biome continues to be the most optimal choice.
Don’t forget to drop a Star Piece while searching for Shellder, as this will give you 1500 Stardust from each catch. If you happen to run out of Incense or Lure Modules, remember that you can always purchase them from the in-game Shop using PokeCoins.
