Jay ‘Sinatraa’ Won, a former professional player in both Valorant and Overwatch, has recently spoken out after years of silence concerning serious allegations of sexual assault that were raised by his ex-girlfriend, Cleo ‘cle0h’ Hernandez. In 2021, Hernandez accused Sinatraa of sexual misconduct during an intimate encounter, even presenting an audio recording to support her claims.

Riot Games, the publisher of Valorant, conducted an investigation, which resulted in a six-month suspension for Won due to alleged misrepresentation of facts and failure to cooperate with the inquiry. Despite his persistent claims of innocence and the absence of any legal charges against him, Sinatraa has not returned to competitive gaming at a high level since the allegations. However, on November 29, 2024, he broke his silence with new remarks shedding light on his perspective of the entire incident.

In a detailed post on X (formerly Twitter), Sinatraa outlined several key points regarding the investigation process, particularly disputing the context of the audio recording shared by Hernandez. He stated, “What actually happened in the video of the audio clip was we had consensual sex and she asked me to record. In the video, she was on top of me the whole time and she was the one fully in control.”

Additionally, Sinatraa detailed that following the incident, his attorney recommended that he should articulate earlier in the investigation that he possessed a video of their encounter, despite it already being deleted. He expressed his belief that Hernandez was required to provide the recording, given that she was the accuser in this situation. Sinatraa further mentioned that Riot misinterpreted his actions, labeling him as “uncooperative”because he did not present a video that no longer existed.

Criticism Towards Riot Games

Moreover, Sinatraa criticized Riot for their management of the entire investigation, claiming that the company had predetermined the outcome regarding the allegations. In his remarks, he referenced a tweet from Alex Francois, Riot’s former head of esports, which appeared to mock individuals who were keen on hearing his side of the narrative. Sinatraa alleged that he was “90% sure”that Francois had the final decision regarding his suspension.

Sinatraa concluded that he would not revisit this matter again, expressing concern over potential bans from Riot for speaking out. He stated, “I didn’t proofread or pre-think any of this; I just straight up told the truth and what’s on my mind.” As of now, Riot Games has not issued a response to these recent developments, while the gaming community remains divided on support for Sinatraa, with some backing him and others still believing in his guilt. Notably, law enforcement continues to investigate these serious allegations.
