SM Entertainment Denies Involvement of NCT Johnny and Haechan in Prostitution and Drugs Scandal

SM Entertainment denied accusations related to the personal lives of NCT 127 members Johnny and Haechan.

On June 3, it was rumored through various online communities and social media platforms that NCT members Johnny and Haechan had visited a Japanese entertainment establishment.

The group was accused of meeting with and soliciting prostitutes. Shortly after, purported photos and screenshots of member Johnny’s conversations with the prostitutes began circulating, which had originally been shared on the OP’s personal social media account.

During their conversation, the female hostess inquired about when Johnny and the male idol would meet again. The idol responded that they would both return to Japan on March 8th. Netizens later discovered that the two had coincidentally returned to the country around the same time for an official schedule.

The speculation grew that drugs were involved and that Super Junior’s Heechul had invited them to the location, as evidenced by one of the photos provided by the OP.

Consequently, Heechul took to the fan communication platform Bubble on the same day to defend himself and provide clarification, stating:

“I’ve been keeping an eye on it. I’m just talking to the company because I’m afraid I will cause trouble on Instagram again.

I’m just going to give a brief statement in case you guys are worried or disappointed. I have never had a meal or drank outside separately with my company’s juniors, nor have I ever met them. I don’t even have their contact information.”

Despite the growing concerns from NCTzens, SM Entertainment, the label representing the artists, ultimately issued an official statement on the 5th via KWANGYA 119.

According to the company’s statement:

“Hello. This is SM Entertainment.

Currently, rumors with unspeakable provocative content about Johnny and Haechan including prostitution and drugs are being indiscriminately spread and reproduced online.

After checking, the rumors turn out to be completely false. This is a criminal act that seriously damages the reputation of artists.

The creation of groundless rumors and malicious slander continues toward NCT and other artists under our label, including Kim Heechul.”

Additionally, SM Entertainment announced that they will be taking legal action against individuals who have been spreading rumors, regardless of their nationality.

“We have already collected sufficient data on a large number of posts related to the content in question. We will not sit idly by on these criminal acts and will ensure that the relevant perpetrators are punished legally without leniency or agreement, regardless of nationality.

Please be aware that even at this moment, any act of posting malicious posts may be subject to legal punishment. Thank you.”

According to the initial rumor, the reported visit took place in Tokyo, Japan and the account owner is allegedly of Japanese nationality.

After Kim Heechul and SM Entertainment stepped forward, the initial poster who spread the allegations has since deleted their account.
