Despite the Fallout 4 next-gen update, several invaluable glitches that allow you to fully explore the wasteland of The Commonwealth are still present.
The success of the Fallout TV show has led to a significant increase in sales for the game franchise. In response, Bethesda has focused on promoting Fallout 4 with a next-gen update that includes higher resolution and 60 fps support for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
Despite being eagerly anticipated, the Fallout 4 next-gen update has been a letdown for certain fans. While it has improved the game’s performance, it has also resulted in the deletion of third-party content, causing issues such as broken modded save files and achievements on Xbox.
Nonetheless, despite Bethesda’s massive update, it appears that numerous beneficial glitches were kept hidden in the vault as they still exist in the game. As is typical of Bethesda games, these glitches are often seen as endearing quirks.
One notable issue is the Dogmeat Cryolator glitch within Vault 111. If Dogmeat is instructed to fetch items in the area after being brought back into the vault, he will phase through the gun’s case. This results in the Cryolator and 200 ammo being added to his inventory, providing players with a powerful weapon early on in the game.
Although the previous glitch is useful, it is not particularly exciting and will not make you excessively powerful, causing enemies to flee in fear. Fortunately, there is another glitch in the game that transforms you from a resilient wasteland survivor to a formidable force that even the Enclave cannot match.

For those interested in testing their skills with powerful weapons, there is a glitch that can transform any firearm into a mini-nuke firing machine gun. In the wasteland, a Fat Man is typically required to unleash nuclear destruction.
This particular glitch does require a significant investment of time and resources, including having both the “Gun Nut”and “Science!”perks fully upgraded, as well as precise timing to successfully exploit the crafting menu of the Weapon Station.
In the menu for weapon modification, ensure that the Fat Man and your desired weapon are positioned next to each other, with the former placed above the latter.
By removing the Fat Man just prior to selecting the modify button for the second weapon, correctly executing this exploit will transfer the Fat Man’s modding menu onto the new gun, enabling the use of Fat Man mods on regular weapons.
Equipping the Mirv launcher mod on a weapon like the Overseer’s Guardian, which already shoots an extra projectile while firing as shown in the video, grants you the capability to potentially cause a second nuclear disaster. However, it is important to refrain from firing it indoors.
Despite the next-gen update, these glitches have remained in the game since its launch, much like a Radroach surviving a nuclear fallout. Therefore, we do not anticipate them being fixed anytime soon.
