On April 22nd, a post entitled “Victim of Song Ha-yoon’s Bullying Speaks Out”was shared on online communities. The author, A, identified themselves as a male junior who had been a victim of Song Ha-yoon’s bullying in school and expressed their disappointment with the lack of a sincere apology from both the agency and Song Ha-yoon.
Recently, I have been living in the United States. It was just a month ago that I stumbled upon the show ‘Marry My Husband’. While watching YouTube shorts, I recognized Song Ha-yoon, although her name was unfamiliar to me. Her face and voice were familiar, as she played the older sister who used to call me out during lunchtime and physically bully me for 90 minutes back in high school.
After suffering from her violent behavior, I lost interest in her life when she transferred to another school. However, while watching YouTube shorts, those memories resurfaced and I felt a cold sweat break out on my hands and back. Seeing her behave differently on TV from how she had in the past made me angry.
Upon reflection, he stated, “My initial action was to send a DM to Song Ha-yoon’s Instagram in hopes of forgiving her if she remembered and apologized. However, I did not receive a response.”
B explained, “After not receiving a response from Song Ha-yoon, I decided to reach out to her agency via DM. When I did not hear back, I followed up with an email. It was only after my third email that I finally received a reply, requesting specific details. Following this, we had a thorough phone call that lasted approximately two hours.”
The individual clarified that they had stated, “If I receive a genuine apology and an explanation for the attack directly from the person responsible, I will not speak out.”However, the agency responded by saying, “We are unable to reach the person responsible. Let’s arrange a meeting first.”The individual also provided screenshots of their messenger conversations, revealing that the person responsible had avoided taking responsibility and the company had not issued an apology.
Despite a week having passed since the last broadcast, A remains unchanged in their beliefs. They have no interest in reaching a compromise, even if legal action is being considered. A warns that they may eventually become an old rumor, but their stance remains steadfast. The situation is far from over.
Song Ha-yoon’s involvement in a school violence controversy was brought to light during the January 1st episode of JTBC’s “Scandal Supervisor.” In response, her agency King Kong by Starship released a statement clarifying that the actress has no connection to the person making the accusations and that all the allegations are false, after verifying the facts with her.
