Sonic Drive-In has recently unveiled two exciting additions to its menu: crispy chicken wraps, launching just two days ahead of McDonald’s highly anticipated return of its Snack Wrap. This move marks an expansion of Sonic’s offerings as fast food chains increasingly focus on portable and budget-friendly chicken meals.
Now available at participating Sonic locations across the country, these new wraps are part of a strategic initiative to provide affordable menu choices. This initiative follows Sonic’s previous limited-time releases of similar chicken wraps, demonstrating a commitment to meeting consumer demand for convenient meals.
Introducing Sonic’s Crispy Tender Wraps
Each wrap is priced at an attractive $1.99, fitting within Sonic’s “FUN.99″value menu, which also features other popular offerings such as the Soft Pretzel Twist, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and various slush beverages.
The Cheesy Baja Crispy Tender Wrap includes a crunchy breaded chicken tender wrapped in a soft flour tortilla, complemented by fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and a zesty baja sauce. Alternatively, the Honey Chipotle Crispy Tender Wrap swaps the sauce for a honey chipotle aioli, adding a sweet and spicy kick to the flavor profile.

Earlier this year, Sonic experimented with different flavors of chicken wraps, including Hickory BBQ and Cheesy Baja, as part of their limited-time offerings. The chain also introduced queso tender wraps, showcasing a diverse range of options for chicken enthusiasts.
In the broader context of the fast-food landscape, competitors are also ramping up their chicken selections. McDonald’s plans to reintroduce its Snack Wrap on July 10, while Popeyes has launched its own version of chicken wraps in various flavors this year. Additionally, Taco Bell debuted a chicken strip burrito and taco lineup back in June, reflecting the industry’s competitive push to enhance chicken menu offerings.
