Guide to Early Installation of Windows 11 25H2

Windows 11 25H2 is generating excitement among users eager to access its newest features and enhancements before the official launch later this year. While this update will eventually roll out via an enablement package, tech enthusiasts have two ways to get ahead of the crowd.

Installation Methods Overview

  • Enroll your device in the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider Program to download the latest update through Windows Update.
  • Alternatively, download the ISO preview file to create a bootable USB for a fresh installation.

It’s important to exercise caution; since this update remains under development, installing it on a primary device could lead to unexpected issues. Consider using a secondary computer or a virtual machine instead.

Installing from a Bootable USB

If you prefer a clean installation, you can create a bootable USB drive with the Windows 11 25H2 ISO file. Here’s how:

  1. Insert the USB flash drive and power on your PC.

  2. Press any key to start the installation process.

  3. Select your installation language and region, and then click Next.

  4. Choose your keyboard layout and click Next.

  5. Hit Install Windows 11.

  6. Agree to the terms by selecting the relevant option that indicates you comprehend this will erase all data on the device.

  7. If prompted for a product key, select I don’t have a product key. You can activate Windows later if applicable.

Quick Note: The reinstallation will automatically activate Windows if it was previously enabled on this device.
  8. Select your desired Windows edition if necessary and click Next.

  9. Accept the licensing terms and press Next.

  10. Identify your preferred partition for installation and delete it, ensuring you select the correct drive (usually “Drive 0”).

  11. Then, click on the unallocated space and select Next to continue the installation.

  12. Once you click Install, the process will begin.

  13. Follow the on-screen instructions during the Out of Box Experience (OOBE) to set your preferences.

Upon conclusion, navigate through the setup screens, select your network, and finalize your preferences to complete the Windows 11 25H2 installation.
