Resetting your account in Escape from Tarkov is typically considered a last-resort action, especially when players find themselves depleted of weapons and resources. Many players opt to reset their accounts at the beginning of a wipe if their initial gameplay has been suboptimal, as all accounts start with a standard range of loadouts and resources.

This guide outlines the necessary steps to effectively reset your Escape from Tarkov account and important mechanics associated with the process.

The only method to reset your account is through the official Escape from Tarkov website. It’s important to note that account resets cannot be executed while in-game.

To begin the reset process, log in to the website. Before you proceed, ensure that both the BattleState Games Launcher and the EFT Launcher are completely closed. After logging in, proceed to the top-right corner of the page and click on your profile. From there, select the “Profile” button.

Upon reaching your profile settings, navigate to the profile overview section. Here, you should see an option labeled “Reset the game profile.” Click the “Reset” button; this will prompt a warning message to confirm your action before the reset occurs.

Be mindful that there is a three-week cooldown period for resetting a newly created character. If you’ve recently launched a new character, you will be required to wait three weeks before initiating another reset. These regulations may be subject to change, depending on the policies established by BattleState Games.

Once all prerequisites are fulfilled, you can opt to reset either your PvE or PvP profile by selecting the corresponding options and hitting the “Submit” button.
