The arid landscapes of Minecraft have gained depth and excitement with the arrival of two intriguing mobs: the Camel Husks and the Parched. These new camel variants exhibit distinct behaviors; notably, they remain hostile when ridden by undead entities, yet they become passive once their riders dismount. Although categorized as undead, players can tame and ride Camel Husks across the expansive Minecraft world, creating opportunities for unique gameplay experiences.
Locating Camel Husks in Minecraft
The Camel Husk is a zombified version of the standard camels that inhabit desert biomes. Players eager to encounter this mob will find it debuting with the upcoming Mounts of Mayhem update. However, to experience this new content early, downloading the latest snapshot is recommended.
Camel Husks only appear in desert biomes during the night or when the light level falls to zero. Their spawn dynamics are influenced by specific conditions:
- During nighttime, only 10% of Camel Husks may spawn with two riders: a Husk in the front and a Parched at the back.
- These mobs require open spaces to spawn; they cannot be found inside caves, similar to regular Husks.
- When grouped, only one undead Camel can be mounted by a Husk. Importantly, baby Husks are prohibited from riding Camel Husks.

Taming the Camel Husk in Minecraft
A strategic way to approach this is to utilize a shield while utilizing a bow to target the riders, ensuring the Camel Husk remains unharmed.
Once the riders are defeated, taming the Camel Husk is a straightforward process. Follow these steps:
- Equip a rabbit’s foot, its favorite food, in your hand and approach the Camel Husk.
- Watch as the Camel Husk’s attention will focus on you.
- Right-click to feed it the rabbit’s foot.
- Upon successful feeding, red hearts will appear over the Camel Husk, indicating that it has been tamed.

Unlike traditional horses, there is no need to ride the Camel Husk to foster trust; simply feeding it the rabbit’s foot is sufficient. Additionally, players can also tame the Zombie Horse, another variant introduced in the Mounts of Mayhem update.
Riding a Camel Husk in Minecraft
Once the Camel Husk has been tamed, you can right-click on it again with an empty hand to mount. While riding is possible, controlling the mob requires a saddle.
To equip a saddle, press the E key to access the inventory and place the saddle in the designated slot on the Camel Husk. Alternatively, you can hold the saddle and right-click on the Camel Husk to apply it directly.

Keep in mind that the Camel Husk does not have a slot for armor, but it compensates for this with its robust health and resistance to sunlight exposure.
With the saddle equipped, navigate your Camel Husk using the arrow keys, and press and hold the jump key to charge the dash meter. Release the jump key once the meter turns orange for a powerful dash across the terrain.
