On the morning of April 22, HYBE investigated the management of ADOR – NewJeans’ agency for allegedly leaking confidential information. At the same time, they also requested the resignation of CEO Min Hee-jin.

In the photo she shared, sharp-eyed netizens noticed the words “Stop Copying.”What makes this even more noteworthy is that the photo was uploaded on March 25, 2024 – the same day ILLIT officially debuted with their MV “Magnetic”and E.P “Super Real Me.”
The timing of these events has led to many speculations. Some netizens believe that Hyein’s actions may have been a subtle criticism towards the younger girl group for imitating her style. This speculation has emerged due to previous reports from Korean media that NewJeans had shown support for Min Hee-jin during the “family feud”with HYBE.
Despite the ongoing feud, it is important to note that all of this remains mere speculation. NewJeans has yet to make any direct moves in relation to the controversy. Fans of NewJeans have also pointed out that the photo posted by Hyein on March 25, 2024 was not meant to offend ILLIT, as it can be verified that the photo with the caption “Stop copying”was taken on December 31, 2023.
On the contrary, HYBE CEO Park Ji Won addressed an uplifting letter to the company’s employees. In the letter, Park Ji Won refuted the allegations of ILLIT’s imitation and emphasized the importance of “preserving NewJeans.”
Despite the approaching comeback date for the girl group, NewJeans fans are still filled with anxiety as the feud between HYBE and Min Hee-jin remains unresolved.
