The tweet specifically responded to a netizen’s original post, in which they expressed a desire to start a thread featuring individuals who have given up on something.

The X post garnered over 500,000 engagements, with one post in the quotes section particularly standing out. This post was about Rana, a former member of Nine Muses who departed in 2011.

Based on the screenshot, the celebrity publicly announced her departure from the music industry after openly admitting her inability to sing.

Rana became a member of Nine Muses in 2010, after winning a super-model pageant in the past.

Despite their model-like physique, height, and visuals, they rose to stardom at the time. Additionally, their debut song, “No Playboy,”was well-received by fans and garnered decent support.

Sadly, just one year after their debut, Rana and Bini both departed from the group. According to the official statement, they made the decision to pursue their individual careers, with Rana returning to her initial passion of modeling and acting.

Although it had been two years since her departure from the group, the former idol finally disclosed the true reason for her withdrawal and departure from the music industry in December 2013 during an episode of “Challenge 1000 Songs.”

In 1984, Miss Korea Lim Ji Yeon stated that Rana had retired from her singing career due to vocal issues, quoting her as saying:

“You’ll see later. I can’t sing.”

During the show, Rana sang a song and when the other cast members heard her voice crack while singing the first line, they couldn’t help but express their surprise. In an effort to lighten the mood, they joined in and sang along with her.

Netizens Discuss Rana’s Live Vocals Controversy in the K-pop Scene

Currently, the post has accumulated more than 560k views and approximately 17.5k likes. Fans of different K-pop fandoms have expressed their admiration for Rana, who bravely embraced and acknowledged her true talents.

Fans comprehended her because they were also informed that Rana’s training was geared towards becoming a model and actress, rather than a singer or idol.

At that moment, individuals argued that the K-pop industry would improve if present idols were open and truthful about their talents and limitations. They pointed out specific idols who had faced criticism for their subpar live vocals.

Some netizens also expressed their belief that Rana’s singing abilities surpass those of current idols, suggesting that the quality of K-pop is declining.
