Ex-Twitch streamer Steven ‘Destiny’ Bonell has disclosed what he believes to be the footage that led to his permanent ban from the service, expressing his discontent with the platform’s decision.
Destiny’s ban from Twitch occurred in March 2022, and he later confirmed that it was a permanent one.
As is customary with Twitch suspensions, the platform informs streamers about the violated rules but does not provide details about the nature of the infraction.
Addressing the issue on YouTube back then, Destiny stated, “Twitch never informs me about the specifics of my bans. They indicated there was a violation during my stream, providing three potential reasons: using a mix of words and emotes in chat that could be seen as racially derogatory, endorsing or supporting a hate crime, and lastly, ‘advocating for the exclusion of a group of people based on their disability.’ I can’t believe that could be it, right?”
However, the specific cause for his suspension was not clarified until late 2024. It remains uncertain how Destiny obtained this confirmation, but on October 28, he posted a clip on X/Twitter that he claims triggered his indefinite suspension.
“This is the clip that got me perma banned from Twitch, lol,” he remarked.

In the video, he reacts to a viewer’s comment praising his “one-on-one voice trans debates” and encouraging him not to cancel such segments.
“It’s just not worth it,” Destiny replies. “That community is not worth engaging with. There’s no value in doing it. The risk of me getting permanently banned and potentially ruining my life because of these inbred f**king disgusting losers, it’s just not worth it.”
Destiny attempted to appeal his ban in June 2024, but his request was rejected. Twitch stated, “Our team has reviewed your appeal and after examining the specifics of your situation, we have concluded that your account will remain suspended due to your violation of our Community Guidelines.”
Another Twitch streamer, Asmongold, criticized the rejection of Destiny’s appeal, pointing out the inconsistency in Twitch’s enforcement. Asmongold himself has faced a ban for comments regarding Palestine but received only a 14-day suspension.
Currently, Destiny primarily broadcasts on Kick, where he typically garners around 1,000 live viewers. Prior to his Twitch ban in March 2022, he averaged close to 2,900 viewers.
