In a preview for the upcoming episode of “SNL Korea”that was released on Coupang Play on May 4th, comedian Kim Ah-young mimicked ADOR’s CEO Min Hee-jin. In a short video, she gained attention by imitating Min Hee-jin’s distinctive tone and making aggressive and outspoken remarks such as “I apologize, but this darned old man”and “Darn it.”This was a parody of Min Hee-jin’s recent press conference, and Kim Ah-young further added to the humor by donning a striped top and the blue hat that Min Hee-jin had worn during the conference.
Previously, comedian Lee Kuk-joo had also made headlines for her “Min Hee-jin inspired”look on her personal channel. While it was not an exact replica, she caught attention by sporting a similar outfit consisting of a striped top and a blue hat. Lee Kuk-joo playfully wrote, “What? I was a trendsetter,”showing her awareness of the current “Min Hee-jin look”craze. This sparked a humorous response from fellow comedian Kwon Hyuk-soo who commented, “You were too quick,”eliciting laughter.
It is worth noting that the outfit worn by Min Hee-jin during her recent contentious press conference has completely sold out, further solidifying the hype surrounding her. Following the press conference, numerous parodies of her signature look have flooded social media and online platforms. Many view these parodies as memes, which are often viewed positively within the MZ generation. With an increasing number of individuals taking Min’s side in her media dispute with HYBE, it is anticipated that the trend of Min Hee-jin parodies will only continue to escalate.
