Summit1g Expands Streaming Horizons After 12 Years on Twitch
Jaryd ‘Summit1g’ Lazar, a veteran Twitch streamer with a significant following, has announced his plans to begin multi-streaming on various platforms, marking a significant shift after being an exclusive Twitch broadcaster for 12 years.
The Journey of Summit1g on Twitch
Since joining Twitch in 2012, Summit1g has established himself as one of the platform’s pioneering creators. With over 6.3 million followers and an average viewership exceeding 10,000 per stream, he has built a robust and dedicated community.
Departure from Exclusivity
Despite speculation in 2020 that he might transition to Mixer, Summit1g has remained loyal to Twitch. However, during his livestream on November 4, he disclosed that he would soon begin streaming on multiple platforms:
“Soon, within the next week, I have to probably start streaming on other platforms,” Summit1g stated. “I don’t even know how it really works; I just know that I have to. I don’t wanna do it any more than you guys want me to do it. You have to expand yourself across the internet as much as you can when it’s your job to get people to watch you.”
The Rise of Multi-Streaming
This decision aligns him with a growing trend among streamers who are opting for multi-streaming instead of committing to a single platform. Prominent streamers like TimTheTatman and DrLupo made headlines in September for broadcasting across YouTube, Twitch, and X following the end of their exclusive contracts with YouTube.
Additionally, on October 28, popular creator Fuslie ended her contract with YouTube and announced her return to Twitch, opting for a simultaneous streaming strategy as well.
Ninja: A Pioneer in Multi-Streaming
Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, another major figure in streaming, was one of the first to embrace multi-streaming. After concluding his exclusive Twitch contract in 2022, he launched an expansive streaming strategy that includes platforms such as YouTube, X, and TikTok.
Conclusion
As the landscape of online streaming continues to evolve, Summit1g’s shift towards multi-streaming reflects a broader trend that allows creators to reach a wider audience and enhance their brand visibility. Fans can look forward to engaging with him across various platforms in the coming weeks.
