Wuthering Waves, a free-to-play video game developed by Kuro Games, has captured the interest of Suzume fans. This game has become incredibly popular on the internet due to its abundance of anime references, including one created by Makoto Shinkai.

Wuthering Waves was made available on May 23, 2024, with a launch on multiple platforms such as PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and mobile phones. This action role-playing game appears to have been inspired by Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume, and has been receiving positive feedback from fans.

Makoto Shinkai’s newest film is full of breathtaking visuals, as expected from the acclaimed director. In addition to these stunning visuals, the movie also contains many powerful and memorable scenes. One of the most notable moments in the film is when the main character encounters the doorway to Ever-After.

The doorway in the movie holds significant symbolic value as it is a portal to the Ever-After, a realm where time stands still and the deceased reside. The Worms, who appear to have entered Earth through these doorways, also reside in this realm. The doorway is characterized by its vibrant colors, making it a visually striking element.

The popular game, Wuthering Waves, included a hidden surprise that was adored by anime enthusiasts. The game incorporated a door set in a grassy field, adorned with vines on its frame, a recurring element seen in both the film and the video game. Additionally, the doorway also served as a portal to a unique location.

Additionally, the color scheme used in both the game and the movie was remarkably similar. This is why the Wuthering Waves anime and manga community is buzzing with excitement, as it contains numerous hidden references, including a nod to the Suzume movie. Players of the game will come across a mysterious Gate, known as the door, in Whining Aix’s Mire.

When players reach this specific Gate, they have the opportunity to enter a special area known as the Somnoire. This area is only accessible during the Depths of Illusive Realms mission in Wuthering Waves. In the game, it is said that this particular gate holds the dreams of all the living beings in Solaris.

Within the game, there is a doorkeeper whose attire bears a striking resemblance to that of a cat. Suzume, the featured Daijin, also dons a cat-shaped keystone. Both the doorkeeper and Daijin sport a white coat, showcasing the game studio’s attention to detail and their nod to Makoto Shinkai’s film. This adds another layer of reference within the game.

Enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the addition of each new anime and manga reference to Wuthering Waves, as it clearly caters to avid consumers of these formats.

Keep an eye out for additional updates on anime and manga news throughout the year 2024.
