Despite his reputation for being private about his personal life, Alwyn recently discussed his previous relationship with Swift in an interview with The Sunday Times Style. He characterized their time together as “long, loving,”and “fully committed.”
Upon being questioned about the rumored album “The Tortured Poets Department”by Taylor Swift, which is said to be about him, Alwyn stated, “I believe my response will resonate with many,”and went on to say, “I hope that others can relate to the challenges that come with the conclusion of a long and devoted six and a half year relationship.”
Swift and Alwyn officially announced their split in April 2023, following a six-year relationship. Many fans speculated that Swift’s song “The Tortured Poets Department”was influenced by their romance, as she has a history of writing about her personal experiences in her music. There were even rumors that her track, “You’re Losing Me,”was a diss towards Alwyn.
The couple apparently first crossed paths at the Met Gala in 2016 and made a conscious effort to keep their romance private. Despite never confirming their split, a reliable source revealed that Swift and Alwyn ended things amicably in April 2023. Fans were surprised by the news, especially since there had been speculation of an engagement between the two.
Following her split from Alwyn, Swift was reportedly romantically involved with Matty Healy, the lead singer of British band The 1975. This caused speculation of a possible “rebond relationship,”as Swift had apparently met Healy while collaborating on music while still with Alwyn. However, after a short fling with Healy, Swift moved on to a public relationship with American football player Travis Kelce, with whom she is currently dating.
