TFT Patch 14.18: Easier for New Players

The upcoming update for Teamfight Tactics will further simplify the game for newcomers by reducing the penalty for equipping items on units in League of Legends’ auto-battler spin-off.

Over the years, Teamfight Tactics has evolved into a highly intricate and challenging game. Initially created as a mode within League of Legends, it has now developed into its own entity with 12 different sets and a devoted community of players.

Despite the game’s longevity, this has allowed players ample time to become proficient in their gameplay. As a result, when new sets are released, the most optimal strategies are quickly identified and remain highly effective for those seeking victory.

The new change in patch 14.18, announced by the devs on Twitter, aims to address the high bar to entry for Riot’s auto battler and cater to the needs of new players.

The upcoming patch for TFT will bring a wealth of new content, such as a new item and multiple reworks. However, a particularly noteworthy adjustment is being made to Magnetic Removers. Starting from the next PvE round, players will now always receive a Magnetic Remover even if they did not have one at the beginning of the round.

This is fantastic news for new players who may feel uncertain about which components create specific items, which core items are suitable for certain units, and other related information. These Magnetic Removers provide the ability to remove any item from a chosen unit, enabling you to freely experiment without facing harsh consequences.

The alteration is a significant disruption for experienced players as they now have the freedom to attach items to their units without having to sell them to remove them, thanks to the new information.

The release date for Patch 14.18 of Teamfight Tactics is set for September 11, 2024.
