The 2024 League of Legends Season begins with patch 14.1. Discover the best champions to climb the ladder!
League of Legends Season 2024 is finally here, bringing with it a lot of changes regarding Summoner’s Rift, items and even Champions.
Update 14.1 will undoubtedly shake up the meta, and it will take several weeks before we really realize what the best champions and builds will be. However, a few weeks of testing on the PBE server allow us to get a first idea of the champions who will dominate this start of the season.

The best champions in Top Lane
Ornn
With the overhaul of AP items, the meta at the start of Season 4 will probably be very focused on magic damage. Thanks to the excellent new anti-AP tank items perfectly tailored to him, Ornn should be like a fish in water.
Trundle
It is difficult to determine whether the meta will shift towards tanks and/or towards top duelists. In either case, Trundle should be at the top of the food chain.
Quinn
Season 14 made early ganking more difficult for junglers. This means that champions who can abuse their opponent in 1v1s are going to have a good time, and Quinn is no exception.
Fiora
The Summoner’s Rift swordswoman is particularly difficult to play, and will only show her true potential in the hands of an experienced player. However, his unparalleled dueling skills and terrifying scaling make him an exceptional carry.
Jax
Jax’s scaling is terrifying, as is his ability to crush any auto-attack-based champion from the mid game onwards. Since the top lane will likely be the domain of the AD champions in Season 14, Jax has everything to succeed.

Nocturne
Nocturne has always been a fairly passive jungler, only radiating from level 6 where his ultimate applies monster pressure on the map. Since Season 14 encourages junglers to be less proactive in the early game, Nocturne should be at a particular advantage.
Fiddlesticks
It is still difficult to judge to what extent the new AP items will help Fiddlesticks in Season 14. However, the trend towards early farming in the jungle is everything the Scarecrow wants, who will be happy to optimize his farming until reach his super-powerful level 6.
Evelynn
Evelynn’s biggest weakness has always been her mediocre start to the game, or the lack of her invisibility passive makes her a poor ganker. With a slower pace in the jungle, the seductress will no longer be penalized for favoring farming over her allies.
Kha’Zix
For a long time, Kha’Zix faced an itemization dilemma. The Roach likes lethality, but its lack of AoE damage has often forced it to opt for a Tiamat in the early game. Now that Tiamat is used to craft Profan Hydra, a new assassin item, Kha’Zix will be able to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Evelynn
No one likes playing against Evelynn, and it’s easy to see why. From level 6, the succubus unlocks its camouflage and can apply untenable pressure on the map.
Fiddlesticks
Never really popular, Fiddlesticks nevertheless displays an impressive winrate with each patch. The Scarecrow can literally carry the game on his back if he manages to land a few successful ganks at level 6.

The best champions in Mid Lane
The house
The gameplan with Talon is always the same: push, and shift to other lanes. With the addition of a Tiamat-based lethality item and the addition of new walls on Summoner’s Rift, our parkour-loving assassin can even more easily impose his pace across the entire map.
Xerath
The overhaul of AP items seems to give pride of place to gunners, who will take full advantage of the offensive power of the new items, without suffering too much from the removal of more defensive options.
Nafiri
Profane Hydra should give many AD assassins the little clear speed boost they need to leave mid lane and roam. Naafiri seems to be an ideal candidate for this new item.
Fizz
Fizz is a formidable assassin, who becomes unmanageable if he reaches an AP threshold allowing him to OS a squishy in a combo. With the new items, this threshold should be even easier to reach.
Gallium
With a full tank build, Galio could well be a common solution for assassins and gunners. Its good pushing capacity and its ultimate allow it to be useful on other lanes, where its CC chain allows you to obtain easy advantages.

The best bot champions
Miss Fortune
MF is one of the ADCs best suited to lethality items, and we already know that the latter will offer more pronounced power spikes at the start of the game. The bounty hunter should therefore be more dominant than ever in the lane phase.
Draven
The changes to the walls near the bot lane will make it the center of attention for many junglers. If ADCs who like to farm quietly will suffer, those who prefer confrontation will, on the contrary, flourish, like Draven.
Nilah
Nilah lacks the range to stand up to traditional ADCs in lane phases that are a little too calm. But since Season 14 risks making the bot lane more volatile than ever, Nilah’s excellent skirmish potential will be a valuable asset.
Samira
Samira loves building a first lethality item, giving it enormous snowball potential. With the strengthening of lethality at the start of the game, the desert rose will be untenable during its power spikes.
Karthus
The Lich could be as effective at botting in Season 14 as it was last year. Passive but difficult to dive, and taking full advantage of the new AP items, The R machine could strike again!

The best Supports
Maokai
Changes to the map towards the bottom of the map should impose a skirmish-based meta on the bot. Able to initiate fights, but also to control vision thanks to his shrubs, Maokai could well establish himself as the essential support at the start of Season 14.
Blitzcrank
A single grappling hook from Blitzcrank can change a lane phase, and some chaos is expected to reign in the bot lane. The robot should therefore have plenty of opportunities to attempt grapples, or even roam towards the middle lane.
Bard
Bard is capable of dealing surprising damage, but also creating surprising gank opportunities. While junglers are expected to play around the bot a lot, the roaming guardian should be like a fish to water.
Pyke
A grab, damage and mobility: this is what defines Pyke, and which could well propel him to the top of the tier list in Season 14. If he manages to snowball during the early game skirmishes, Pyke can he alone imposes the rhythm of a game.
Thresh
Rare are the supports capable of initiating a fight but also of rescuing an ally in trouble. Thresh can do it all, and his versatile kit will be a valuable asset with an aggressive bot meta.
