The First Descendant Players Raise Concerns About Premium Battle Pass

The First Descendant has been met with criticism since its debut due to what some perceive as predatory monetization tactics. The Premium Battle pass has also faced backlash, as players are dissatisfied with the rewards it offers.

One player expressed their disappointment with the Premium Battle Pass rewards on Reddit, stating that they wished there were more catalysts and activators included.

The fact that the premium paid battle pass does not include any Catalysts or Activators, is criminal. byu/Tylerjackx inTheFirstDescendant

The First Descendant features Crystallisation Catalysts as a crucial item, enabling players to alter the Module Socket Type on weapons they own or their Descendant. These catalysts are highly beneficial and can be obtained through various straightforward methods.

Energy Activators, on the other hand, are highly laborious to obtain. These activators increase the number of module slots for weapons and Descendants, and obtaining them during gameplay is a daunting challenge.

It was a common sentiment among several players commenting on the post that Activators should be included in the Premium Battle Pass package. One player stated, “I decided not to purchase it primarily because it doesn’t offer any non-ultimate Descendant or two Descendant slots. If it included cata or energies, I might have considered it. But without those, I cannot justify the purchase.”

Some individuals also suggested additional rewards that they believed should be incorporated. They expressed, “I concur with the notion that Activators are much simpler to obtain compared to Catalysts. It would be beneficial if a free character slot was included in the BP. I am confident that many would find it valuable, especially given the low cost of unlocking it.”

Another person chimed in, stating, “The issue lies not with the catalysts, but with the activators. Obtaining those blueprints is nearly impossible. I believe we should have the option to select our rewards after using the correct material, as it is already challenging enough to acquire some of them.”

It is uncertain if Nexon, the developer, will reevaluate the current Battle Pass offering. However, they have not indicated any potential changes at this time.
