On Monday, May 13, 2024, the official website and Twitter account (previously known as X) for The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies anime released a new promotional video revealing the premiere date of July 9, 2024. The staff also announced six new cast members for the series.

The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies anime is a Studio BONES production and is based on the original manga series by Cocoa Fujiawara, who passed away. The manga was first published in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker magazine from September 2013 to November 2015.

The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to be Archenemies: Anime Debuts on July 9, 2024

The much-anticipated premiere of the anime, The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to be Archenemies, has been announced for July 9, 2024. The latest promotional video, released on Monday, May 10, 2024, also revealed the broadcast details for this highly-anticipated fantasy romance.

Based on the most recent announcement from the officials, viewers can catch the latest episodes of The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies anime every Tuesday starting on July 9, 2024. The show will be airing on Tokyo MX at 11:30 pm JST.

The series will be broadcasted on Tokyo MX every Tuesday at 11 pm JST, as well as on BS11 at the same time. Japanese viewers can also tune in to the series every week on AT-X at 10:45 pm JST. Additionally, the anime will be replayed on AT-X every Thursday at 10:45 pm JST and every Monday at 4:45 pm JST.

The recently released trailer prominently showcases Shun Miller, the main character, who is seemingly associated with a malevolent group determined to eliminate the magical girls. Within the footage, Shun can be seen gazing intently at pictures of Byakuya, one of the magical girls. Interestingly, the preview also gives viewers a taste of Shun’s voice, which is voiced by Yuki Ono.

The Cast and Staff for The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to be Archenemies Anime

In addition to announcing the release date and releasing a new PV, the production team of the anime The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to be Archenemies has also revealed six new cast members. Kenichi Suzumura has been cast as Fomalhaut, an elite soldier of the villainous organization, and Ayako Kawasumi will be taking on the role of Bellatrix.

Hiro Shimono lends his voice to Alcyone, a character who possesses extensive knowledge about women’s psychology. Nao Toyama plays the role of Spica and Takaya Hashi is credited as the voice actor for Betelgeuse. Meanwhile, Takumi Yamazaki stars as Sadalsudh, a research enthusiast, in the anime.

Akiyo Ohashi holds the directorial responsibilities for this anime at Studio BONES, where Yuniko Ayana is responsible for the scripts and series composition. MAYUKO is recognized as the music composer, and Haruko Iizuka has recently joined the team as the character designer.

Adapted from Cocoa’s manga, The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies chronicles the tale of Shun Miller, the mastermind behind a malicious group determined to annihilate all in its wake. As the Earth faces peril, Byakuya Mimori, a magical girl, rises to confront the nefarious organization.

It is noteworthy that Shun Miller immediately falls for the magical girl upon their first encounter. As a result, the anime revolves around the dynamic between Byakuya and Shun, delving into a captivating blend of romance, comedy, and action.
