Samsung released the One UI 5.1 firmware update for the Galaxy A12 Nacho just a few days ago. Today, the company began distributing the new software to Galaxy A12 and Galaxy M12 devices. The incremental update is trickling out with a number of new features and modifications; read on for details.
At the time of writing, the new update is in a phase of gradual rollout and will soon be accessible to all users. In Russia, the vanilla Galaxy A12 (SM-A127F) receives the revised software with the build number A127FXXU8DWC3. The update is now available for the Galaxy M12 (SM-M127F) with the version number M127FXXU4DWC4 in Argentina, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Peru, and Russia.
One UI 5.1 is a substantial upgrade seeding with numerous modifications, requiring a massive amount of data for download. Ensure that your phone has sufficient data and storage space.
Samsung is pushing One UI 5.1 to the two phones with updated stock apps, a battery widget, a dynamic weather widget, the ability to edit EXIF information of images and videos, a better camera and gallery with quick access to selfie features, support for family sharing albums in the gallery, and quick access to Expert RAW, among many other features.
- Camera and Gallery
- Change the color tone of selfies quickly: The Effects button at the top of the screen makes it simpler to change the color tone of your selfies.
- You can now search for multiple people or subjects simultaneously in your Gallery. Even without tagging their names, you can search for persons by tapping their faces.
- Enhanced image remastering: Remastering removes shadows and reflections to make your images appear even better. Additionally, you can remaster GIFs to improve their resolution and clarity. Preview has also been enhanced to facilitate comparison between the original and remastered versions.
- Create a shared family album: sharing pictures with your family has never been simpler. Gallery will suggest photos to add to your shared family album based on the images of the family members you select. Each family member is allotted 5 Gigabyte of storage (up to 6 people).
- When you swipe up while viewing a photo or video in your Gallery, you can find out when and where the image was captured, which device took it, and more. Now with a simplified design.
- Multitasking
- You can now minimize an app window or transition to full screen without having to navigate to the options menu. Simply pull one of the corners.
- Split-screen access to your most-used applications: When you initiate a split-screen view, the apps you use most frequently will appear below the apps you’ve used most recently, allowing you to locate them more quickly.
- Modes and Routines
- Change your wallpaper according to your mode: Change your backdrop depending on your current activity. Choose a wallpaper for your workplace, one for your workout, and others.
- Additional steps for routines: New actions allow you to adjust the sensitivity of Quick Share and Touch, modify your ringtone, and alter your font style.
- Weather
- Rapid access to valuable information: At the top of the Weather app, you can view severe weather alerts, daily weather summaries, and sunrise/sunset times. The temperature graph is now color-coded to depict temperature fluctuations throughout the day.
- An hourly graph now depicts the amount of precipitation that has fallen at various times of the day.
- Synopsis of the Weather widget: The weather widget now displays a concise summary of the current weather conditions, indicating whether it is sunny, cloudy, raining, or snowing.
- Samsung Internet
- Continue browsing on another device: If you are browsing the web on one Galaxy phone or tablet and then open the Internet app on another Galaxy device signed into the same Samsung account, a button will appear allowing you to access the last webpage you were viewing on the other device.
- Your queries now incorporate the names of your bookmark folders and tab groups. Improved search logic allows you to find what you’re searching for regardless of misspellings.
- Additional Changes
- The new Battery widget enables you to monitor the battery status of your devices directly from the Home screen. You can view the remaining battery life on your phone, Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, and other compatible devices.
- Settings suggestions: While signed in to your Samsung account, suggestions to help you share, communicate, and enhance your experience across your Galaxy devices will appear at the top of the Settings screen.
- Choose where screenshots will be saved: You can now modify the directory where screenshots are stored.
You can check for new updates on your Galaxy M12 or Galaxy A12 by navigating to Settings > Software Upgrade > Download and Install.
Before upgrading your phone, be sure to create a backup of your data and restore it to at least 50 percent. If you know the procedure, you can manually sideload the firmware onto your phone if you are in a haste.
