Insights on Love and Achievements: Lee Young-ji and TOMORROW X TOGETHER Unite

In the most recent episode of KBS2TV’s The Seasons – Lee Young-ji’s Rainbow, aired on November 1, host Lee Young-ji opened up about her perspectives on love. She emphasized that true love involves an intimate connection between partners, revealing her own extensive dating history.

During the episode, the talented K-pop group TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) graced the stage with an impressive performance. When Lee Young-ji inquired about their first song, Soobin enthusiastically replied, “We performed ‘LOSER=LOVER.’ The original version is band-oriented, which is why we felt it would be perfect for a live band arrangement, allowing us to focus solely on our vocals.”

Lee Young-ji then prompted the group to reflect on their significant achievements over the past year, recalling their earlier appearances on the show. Beomgyu humorously pulled out a list to share milestones, which included the honor of being the first K-pop group to headline Lollapalooza Chicago in 2023 and having ten of their albums featured on the Billboard 200.

In response to their remarkable accomplishments, Lee Young-ji quipped, “With such achievements, I’d probably cry even in my sleep. Do you shed many tears?” Taehyun playfully hinted at the emotional members of the group, leading Yeonjun to reveal, “It’s usually Soobin and I who are the emotional ones.” Upon further prompting, Yeonjun shared an emotional moment from their performance at Gocheok Sky Dome last year, stating, “It felt like a dream stage. Looking at my members brought back all our shared experiences.”

Soobin added an emotional touch, saying, “Since middle school, performing at Tokyo Dome was my ultimate dream. Finally achieving it a decade later, hearing our songs live was overwhelming.”

Transitioning the conversation, Lee Young-ji asked if there were other significant venues they aspired to perform at. Beomgyu expressed his longing to return to Tokyo Dome, lamenting, “I missed my chance to perform last time due to an injury, and it brought me to tears.”

Discussing the thematic elements of their music, Lee Young-ji pointed out that love seems to be a recurring motif in TXT’s songs. Taehyun elaborated, “From the outset, our narrative has revolved around a coming-of-age story for boys. Our latest album focuses on finding happiness after overcoming challenges.”

As the episode wrapped up, Lee Young-ji reiterated her belief that love is about developing a close connection with others. In a playful exchange, Soobin asked her, “Have you had a lot of experience with love?” Without hesitation, she replied, “Absolutely! While I might not know everything about it, I certainly have a soft spot for love songs,” prompting laughter among the group.
