Many fans of Pokémon Scarlet and Purple have discovered a common trend among players starting their adventure in Paldea, leading them to believe that there is a simple trick to quickly catching certain popular shinies.
Finding shinies is a priority in any Pokémon game, and with Pokémon Scarlet and Purple making shinie hunting bigger and better than ever, players are constantly on the lookout for these rare species.
While encountering even a single shiny can take ages, a few fans may have discovered an easy way to obtain a shiny early on in their journey through the Paldea region.

It all started when a Reddit user named ‘ZYKON617’ shared a post showing a shiny Psyduck in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple, and wrote: “Bruh I literally just got the game and played for about an hour and the second Psyduck that I see is this one.”
The post caused quite a stir among players who rushed to the comments section to share similar experiences.
Users wrote: “My best friend got Scarlet and got both a shiny Gourmelet and a shiny Psyduck kind of thing, within the first 5 hours of play” and “I got a shiny Psyduck in a similar way! ”

After a player commented: “Welcome to the club ‘I found a shiny water type in the first hour of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’. We now have 2 members,” another replied: “Must be a thing! I caught a Psyduck at the same time my husband caught Azurill!”
If these instances weren’t already enough, others came forward about how quickly they managed to obtain a shiny Psyduck, and sometimes Gourmelet, in no time. “The same! Psyduck found in my first hour of exploring!” mentioned one trainer, while the author added: “I don’t actively hunt them and yet I obtained two shiny Psyduck.”
One player pointed out that this trend could be a legitimate thing in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple, as they commented: “I feel like everyone was served a shiny. Me and several friends all found 1 shiny before beating the game and it just seems a little suspicious. Not angry about it, just an observation!”
With so many reports of shiny Psyduck and Gourmelet, in some cases being the first shiny encountered just an hour into the game, it seems like players have a massive chance of snagging the popular shiny beloved for its blue color.
