If you’re a Pokémon fan who’s been playing Pokémon Go since the very beginning, there’s a good chance you’ve done something you might regret. Whether it’s transferring a powerful Pokémon, or missing Community Days, there’s so much to learn, and do wrong, in Pokémon Go.

Fortunately, many other people have made mistakes in the game, and are here to share their experiences. So whether you’re a new player or someone who’s been there from the very beginning, anyone interested in Pokémon Go has something to learn from the mistakes of others.

Pokémon Go players share their biggest regrets after years of playing

As shared in a Reddit post by a Pokémon Go player called u/tog620, they ask the question, “What’s the worst mistake you’ve made […]?” Then, sharing his own, he displays a 4* purified Mewtwo, with the words, “This is mine. At least it’s cheaper to level up.”

Many other Pokémon Go players joined in the comments, sharing their own stories and regrets, with one comment saying, “For 3 years, I only kept the Pokémon with the highest CP and sent the others to the trash without ever evaluating them.”

Another person comments with regret, adding, “I accidentally evolved a Shiny Melo.” Then, another comment below supports them, saying, “Shiny Manzai, here. I sympathize.”

A common theme seems to be people transferring 4-star Pokémon, which are Pokémon with the highest possible stats in the game. One comment says, “Transferring 4’s luckily it was only Tadmorv, Tournegrin, Mimantis, and Barloche. It still sucks.”

Sadly, it seems that even Legendary Pokémon aren’t safe, as one particularly sad comment describes, “It wasn’t me, but my friend transferred a Cosmovum because he didn’t know it was a legendary. He ignored the warning message ‘Are you sure you want to transfer a legendary Pokémon?'”

It’s worth checking out the entire thread to learn even more little mistakes to avoid, but one thing’s for sure, always evaluate your Pokémon before transferring them. 4-star Pokémon are rarer than a shiny.
