This Nightmare Fuel McDonald’s Has the Internet Divided

The crocheted exterior and interior of a McDonald’s in Poland has caused it to go viral, leaving people unsure of what to make of it.

The McDonald’s store, decorated with oversized knitted blankets in 2023 to commemorate the release of their Winter menu, is now gaining attention on the internet for sparking divided opinions.

While some find the store to be incredibly cool and are eager to dine there, others are comparing it to a nightmarish scene straight out of the backrooms. What is your opinion on the matter?

The McDonald’s restaurant in Ustron, Poland was adorned with colorful yarn in shades of pink, yellow, and green, resembling a giant cardigan with oversized buttons.

The interior had a similar decor, with every chair, carpet, and counter adorned with yarn to create a warm and inviting dining atmosphere.

The Lumberjack Burger, which includes beef and chicken patties, bacon, cheese, lettuce, and special sauce, was being promoted with the accompanying decoration.

The design was developed for four months and then took 28 days to install, with the help of over 50 workers.

The McDonald’s has caused a frenzy on the internet, with many speculating how the fabric floors and seating would have looked after months of kids spilling ketchup all over them.

Some were expressing disbelief by saying that this McDonald’s was in Poland. “If you hadn’t told me, I would have mistaken it for being in Ohio,”playing on the Gen-Z slang of referring to bad things as ‘Ohio’.

Some, on the other hand, did not perceive it as simply being comically unattractive and instead found the interior to be unsettling: “I don’t know why, but personally, it is quite frightening.”

This McDonald’s is nightmare fuel for some.

The interior of the building exudes a creepy nostalgia that is reminiscent of the backrooms, an internet trend that describes a surreal space that feels hauntingly familiar, perhaps from a childhood nightmare.

Generally, the rooms have an eerie atmosphere, with primary colors as the main decor and a somewhat plain appearance.

Despite some dissenting opinions, many saw this as a highly original idea, with one person commenting, “It’s a nice touch considering Bielsko Biała’s rich history in dyeing and industry.”

Some people were commenting that this appeared to be the most comfortable McDonald’s they had ever seen, and that McDonald’s in Poland is of exceptional quality.

Sadly, due to this being a limited-time offer, the McDonald’s no longer has multiple vibrant sweaters on display. Nevertheless, for those interested in trying out McDonalds’ international menus, a Global Menu has recently been introduced.
