This Pokémon Go player captures a Porygon that is as rare as it is useless

A Pokémon Go player was left feeling “disappointed” and somewhat baffled after successfully capturing the opposite of a shiny Porygon with perfect stats (Shundo).

While Pokémon Go is certainly focused on catching all the Pokémon and filling up your Pokédex, there’s always the excitement of managing to catch a shiny, or, as many call Pokémon with full stats, a Shundo. Both are increasingly difficult to find, with many relying on Community Days to obtain a powerful pocket Pokémon.

However, with the chances of getting a Shundo being rare, the chance of getting a Nundo, a Pokémon with no stats, is just as unheard of. So, combine that with a shiny and you get a pretty rare but extremely disappointing ShNundo, just like this player.

Pokémon Go players perplexed after catching a “rare” ShNundo

Sharing his unfortunate but impressive capture on the Pokémon Go Reddit, one user attached an image of his ShNundo Porygon, asking the community: “What do you call a shiny with zero IVs? I have heard of the shundo, but have never captured one and was a little disappointed to have gotten it today”

Although the player seemed disappointed, others took to the comments to express their jealousy, with one pointing out that it is a “ShNundo, and I think they are sometimes rarer than shundos real. Nice catch.”

Others echoed this statement, with one stating that this capture was “1 in 102,400, I don’t know why you feel disappointed.” While it hasn’t been confirmed, it’s clear that many consider this to be a pretty impressive catch.

One player helpfully explained why this ShNundo is so rare: “For those of you who are confused, the reason nundos are rarer than hundos is because you can only get nundos from wild catches which are not not boosted by weather” , meaning that you can only obtain this Pokémon through one means, rather than in your general game.

Regardless of the player’s disappointment, the comments and support from the community will likely have given them a lot of comfort. Who would have thought that the author had such a rare but useless Pokémon on his hands?
