Pokémon Go developer Niantic has introduced a major quality of life update to the One-Time Research interface in the game, which has been very well received by players.
In its eight years of existence, Pokémon Go has received so many changes that it’s virtually unrecognizable from the simple creature-catching augmented reality game that launched in 2016.
From the introduction and overhaul of Routes to exciting events like Sinnoh, Niantic is constantly introducing new content to keep things fresh.
However, it’s often the small changes that fans love the most, and this latest update to a key feature proved that.
Pokémon Go Fans Praise One-Time Research Update
The Pokémon Go community is praising Niantic for an update released on January 24, 2024, which saw the addition of collapsible tabs to the Spot Studies interface.
This quality of life update makes it easier for trainers to navigate and organize the tasks they are working on, while making better use of screen real estate.
Impressed by the update, one fan commented: “Very useful addition, now I don’t have to scroll through GO Battle League Spot Studies (and accidentally claim one) while watching Collection Challenges.»
Two other trainers were excited by the obvious benefits of this update, responding, “Oh great, finally it will be so much easier to scroll and I can skip searches I don’t want to do,”and “BEST CHANGE OF QOL THIS YEAR… OR ANY YEAR.»
Another response applauded the change as a “quality of life feature we needed”, but admitted: “Although if it doesn’t stay collapsed then it’s effectively useless.”»
This latter concern was also raised by someone else who expressed, “I wish it would stay collapsed after restarting the app,”believing there is still room for improvement.
Regardless of whether some players want additional improvements, the consensus among the Pokémon Go community was that this change is positive and that they hope Niantic continues to provide more quality of life updates.
