One of Warzone’s best submachine guns got an “incredible” TTK following a “huge,” hidden buff in the January 23 update, making it even better than it already was.
With each new Warzone update, the developers usually make a big change to the meta with a series of weapon changes, the addition of new weapons, and even new attachments.
Warzone Season 1 and Modern Warfare 3 Update Reloaded ticked all of those boxes, but there was something a little different this time around.
While the developers fixed some issues that appeared in the main update, they also brought new weapon balances.
Notably, the AMR9 and a set of MW3 spare parts have received significant changes. However, by combining them you get one of the best weapons in the game.
Warzone’s AMR9 dominates after January 23 update buff
According to Warzone experts JGOD and TrueGameData, the AMR9 submachine gun has received a rather interesting buff and now has a completely “crazy” TTK.
In the update, the AMR9’s fire rate has been improved, but this is also helped by its conversion kit overhaul which also improves bloom. According to JGOD, this is a “fairly notable” change that makes the submachine gun very competitive.
According to JGOD stats, this submachine gun has a TTK of 576 m/s, as long as you don’t hit the legs.
As for TrueGameData, he added that the conversion kit is not a required accessory due to the buffs the AMR9 received anyway, noting that it is now “good in all situations.”However, both agree that it is a “slow” weapon due to its poor transition time from sprinting to shooting.
This transition time, however, can be combatted by focusing on a mobility-focused class.
As evidenced by these changes, the Battle Royale meta is constantly in flux, so don’t be surprised to see AMR9 undergo changes again if it becomes too powerful.
