A Chipotle customer’s order received a heartfelt note from an Uber Eats delivery driver, which went viral and helped the driver pay off his entire wedding.
For the past year and three months, Paul Slobodzian, a popular TikToker known by the username @paulslobo711, has been working as an Uber Eats delivery driver in order to save money for his upcoming September wedding with his fiancée, Aly Perkins.
During a delivery, he placed a handwritten note inside a Chipotle takeout bag for the customer to find.
“We appreciate your order! As a way to give my fiancée the wedding she deserves, I am delivering on the side. Any additional tip through the app or Venmo would be greatly appreciated,”the note read.
After Erica Hernandez placed the delivery order, she turned to TikTok with the intention of helping Paul earn enough money for Aly’s dream wedding.
Erica Hernandez hoped that Paul’s note would reach the right people.
“Although I don’t have a large following, I hope this TikTok video reaches the intended audience,”Erica wrote, as her video quickly gained popularity on the app.
Before long, Paul’s Venmo account was overflowing with generous donations from individuals touched by his heartwarming story.
Not only were there numerous donations from strangers towards their wedding fund, but the couple also received $500 from Chipotle.
After tallying up their Venmo contributions, he and Aly, his partner who also worked alongside him for Uber Eats every day of the week, were able to earn sufficient funds to quit their delivery jobs and concentrate on planning their wedding.
@paulslobo711 CHIPOTLE DELIVERY DRIVER FIANCÉ UPDATE: A huge thank you to everyone who has reached out regarding my note on @erica_cristal’s video. The support for me and my fiancée, @Aly, means more than I can express. Thank you all for changing our lives. #update #chipotle #wedding #deliverydriver ♬ original sound – Paul
Paul mentioned that he and Aly will be able to devote more quality time to each other before their nuptials on September 21, now that their wedding expenses have been fully covered.
Additionally, the couple extended an invitation to Erica for their wedding and had allocated $1,000 for her to keep, as they had earned a surplus to cover the expenses of the occasion.
Despite the rarity of a driver leaving a note with a delivery order, a UPS driver gained viral attention in 2023 for the note they included with a customer’s package.
Despite falling down the stairs, they still encouraged the customer to check out their Ring camera for a “good laugh.”
