The new Vessel of Hatred update in Diablo 4 introduces the Spiritborn class, showcasing its capabilities with a plethora of formidable builds to choose from. Season 6 has elevated the Spiritborn class to unparalleled heights, making it difficult for other classes to compete. Below, you will find a selection of the top Spiritborn builds to explore in Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred season.
Top Spiritborn Builds – Diablo 4 Season of Hatred
Quill Volley Spiritborn
My personal favorite for this season is the Quill Volley build, expertly crafted by Wudijo, whose Twitch streams are worth watching.
This build revolves around the Quill Volley skill, which unleashes a barrage of quills in a cone formation, striking all foes in proximity. Thanks to the Rebounding aspect, these projectiles return to you and hit enemies again, reminiscent of a popular mechanic in games like Path of Exile.
The Quill Volley build boasts incredible speed. Utilizing skills such as Rushing Claw and Soar allows for agile movements while the Acceleration passive increases your evade charges.
Capable of obliterating swarms of enemies, Quill Volley excels against single targets when you engage in melee, ensuring every projectile strikes twice.
Touch of Death Spiritborn
The Touch of Death build shares some utility skills with the Quill Volley but incorporates distinct unique items and aspects. This build excels at inflicting poison damage by hitting enemies and summoning swarms of Pestilence.
Utilizing defensive mechanisms like Armored Hide and Counterattack helps absorb or avoid substantial incoming damage. The Scourge ability enhances damage output against elite foes, while the Hunter ultimate provides buffs and a significant damage increase.
However, for optimal performance, this build requires specific items such as the Ring of the Midnight Sun for maintaining resources, as well as Harmony of Ebewaka and Rod of Kepeleke to amplify damage significantly. As a leveling option, it is less effective due to long cooldowns on your primary skill without the crucial aspects and unique items, yet when fully established, it stands as one of the most robust pit pushers and undercity runners in the game.
Stinger Spiritborn
Commonly referred to as the Centipede build, the Stinger build is one of the most effective starter builds available. Its exceptional mobility is ideal for leveling up, and it can seamlessly transition to T3 and T4 difficulties.
This build utilizes the Stinger ability, allowing you to target enemies or the ground, thereby damaging all nearby foes due to the skill’s built-in poison mechanic. Leveraging aspects like Pestilence and Infestation unlocks pestilent swarms that enhance poison damage.
It’s an excellent leveling choice since it heavily relies on the Pestilence aspect, obtainable after completing a dungeon. Additionally, the build employs the Devourer ability to handle elite adversaries and bosses, along with the same mobility skills found in the previous builds.
Evade Eagle Spiritborn
The Evade Eagle build stands out as one of the most surprising builds. It leverages the natural evade ability, utilizing the Eagle Spirit buff to unleash up to eight Storm Feathers against adversaries, inflicting lightning damage and rendering them vulnerable.
Since this build centers on using the evade skill as a primary tactic, having the implicit “Attacks reduce Evade’s cooldown by 1.5 seconds” on your boots is essential, alongside Thunderspikes as a basic ability to consistently lower your evade cooldown.
By relying predominantly on evades to deal damage, this build is highly mobile and surprisingly resilient due to the frequency of evades. It effectively combines the unique Sepazontec item and the Accelerated Thunderspike skill point to continuously reset your evade while inflicting substantial damage with the Spirit Eagle in your primary Spirit Hall.
Even without the Sepazontec unique, evades can be reset by maximizing the Acceleration passive to 3/3, providing additional evade charges. Focusing on attack speed and incorporating quick skills (Quill Volley can also work here) ensures your evade resets in no time. Acquiring the unique allows for even greater damage scaling by enhancing Storm Feather potency on your tempers.
You can even take down Mephisto early with this build, as his attacks become ineffective against your evasion tactics. This build is undoubtedly one of the best for accelerated leveling due to its remarkable mobility.
