TripleS Nakyoung Opens Up About Being BIBI’s Sister: ‘I Don’t Think…’

Nakyoung, a member of tripleS, discussed her experience in the entertainment industry, where she is joined by her older sister, BIBI.

On June 18, 2024, “Studio Welcome”released a preview video titled “Nakuyung: It’s Not Bad Having BIBI as My Sister(?)”on their YouTube channel. The episode featured special guests Yoon Seoyeon, Kim Yooyeon, Kim Nakyoung, and Nien from tripleS, who had a casual conversation with soloist Lee Chaeyeon.

In the video, MC Chaeyeon inquired about Kim Nakyoung’s sister, BIBI, asking, “Is she your sister? What is it like for the both of you to be celebrities together?”

Despite her initial hesitation, Nakyoung responded, “I don’t see it as a negative thing. We constantly support and depend on each other.”

After Kim Yooyeon proposed, “How about saying, ‘Being BIBI’s sister isn’t so bad’?”Nakyoung chimed in, “I have definitely gained a lot because of my sister.”Yoon Seoyeon then teasingly commented, “You were given one task and you completely disregarded it,”causing everyone to burst into laughter.

Chaeyeon inquired how BIBI had assisted Nakyoung, to which she hesitated and trailed off, “My sister is… my sister has…”

Despite her hesitation, Seoyeon, a fellow member, couldn’t resist teasing her by saying, “It seems like she hasn’t been of much assistance to you.”

Upon noticing Nakyoung’s hesitation, Chaeyeon chimed in, “Chaeryeong is not like this, right?”prompting laughter among the crew. Like Nakyoung, Chaeyeon also has a famous sister in the entertainment industry. Her younger sibling is none other than ITZY member Chaeryeong.

In addition, it is widely known that Kim Nakyoung, a member of tripleS, and BIBI, who has gained popularity for her hit song “Bam Yang Gang,”are biological sisters. The two sisters have further solidified their strong relationship by collaborating in a challenge video for tripleS’s track “Rising.”

Prior to her debut with tripleS, Kim Nakyoung was a contestant on the 2019 season of SBS’s “The Fan,”alongside BIBI. In 2022, when Nakyoung’s debut teaser video was released, many netizens noticed striking similarities between her and BIBI, such as the mole on her right hand and her mouth shape, leading them to speculate that they may be sisters.
