True Geordie calls for Newcastle United to make Jose Mourinho “fairytale” happen

This summer, it would be wise for Newcastle United to consider replacing Eddie Howe with Jose Mourinho as their manager, as the opportunity should not be missed.

According to YouTuber and Newcastle fan, True Geordie, Mourinho is the best option for the Magpies to finally break their 55-year drought and win a major trophy.

Since assuming the role of Newcastle manager in November 2021, Howe has excelled in his duties. Despite inheriting a team in the relegation zone and without a single victory in the current season, he successfully guided the club to Premier League survival in his inaugural season.

In his second year as manager, he successfully led Newcastle to qualify for the Champions League, a feat that the team hadn’t achieved in 20 years.

Under his leadership, United reached their first cup final in 24 years, ultimately falling to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final held at Wembley.

Despite facing numerous injuries this season, Newcastle was able to remain competitive in a challenging Champions League group which consisted of PSG, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund. They also made it to the quarter-finals of both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

Despite leaving Roma earlier this year, Mourinho is still without a club and is eager to secure a new job in the summer.

“The Special One”has an impressive record of winning 26 major trophies during his stints with Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Roma. He is also known for his strong connection with Newcastle.

During his time at Sporting Lisbon, Porto, and Barcelona, Mourinho served as Sir Bobby Robson’s translator and assistant coach. He affectionately referred to himself as a “Little Magpie”due to the fond memories Robson shared with him about Newcastle, where he had previously managed.

Keeping all of this in mind, True Geordie expressed on the Kick Off podcast that although Howe’s departure would be bittersweet, he believes that appointing Mourinho would be an opportunity too valuable to pass up.

“While driving the other day, I found myself pondering this,”he explained. “You know, when you’re having a debate with yourself and I realized that my personal fondness for Eddie Howe is actually part of the issue.”

The topic will commence at 12:49.

“We had Steve Bruce, who was notorious for making shocking statements during press conferences. It was almost guaranteed that you would hear something that made you say, ‘Oh my God.’”

As I sat on the train, I noticed he was also aboard. Despite being in close proximity, I had no desire to approach him or exchange greetings. I did not hold him in high esteem or have any respect for him.

“Eddie Howe, our current leader, conducts himself with great respect and tact, carefully choosing his words. He has accomplished remarkable feats and consistently makes wise decisions.”

“He gave us memories and led us to Wembley. Although we lost, it was still a remarkable accomplishment for a team that hadn’t been to Wembley in over 20 years.

“We gave our all in the Champions League until the very end, forcing the referee to make controversial decisions in favor of PSG. Despite this, I hold a great deal of respect and appreciation for him.”

However, the issue is that, from a logical perspective, there is a part of me that questions what exactly has he accomplished? While I do have faith in his potential to achieve success, it’s hard to ignore the presence of managers like Jose Mourinho, who is essentially the heir to Sir Bobby Robson’s legacy in the world of management.

He was the one who physically constructed him. He was the one who imparted all of his knowledge to him as a young man, sharing stories about Newcastle and his upbringing, as well as anecdotes about Mr Robson.

As a romantic, I couldn’t help but wonder if this could be a fairy tale. I even had faith in Francis Ngannou’s chances against Anthony Joshua, for Christ’s sake. So now, thoughts of Jose Mourinho have crept into my mind.

“When considering the most successful managers currently available in the world football market, has anyone achieved more victories than Jose? Is there anyone else who is currently available?”

“Should we pass up on the chance for Newcastle United to acquire Jose Mourinho, who I believe our fans would adore even more than those of Chelsea? I think it’s an opportunity we cannot afford to overlook.”

“As a club, our ultimate goal is to win one trophy, and I know that with Jose as our manager, that dream could become a reality. He has proven himself to be a capable and successful leader, and I believe he is the best candidate to help us achieve our goal.”
