Twitch has officially stated that the sponsorship of the StarLadder Major in Budapest by Rollbit, a popular gambling platform, adheres to its guidelines and terms of service. This announcement came in response to rising concerns from the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) community regarding how the sponsorship might affect streaming of the event.
The StarLadder CS2 Major, slated to take place soon, will feature Rollbit as its primary sponsor, raising immediate questions about the implications for broadcasts on Twitch. Given that Rollbit is listed among the gambling sites prohibited on Twitch, some users were apprehensive about potential restrictions on both the official broadcasts and co-streams.

Under Twitch’s 2022 gambling policy update, several gambling platforms, including Rollbit, Stake, Duelbits, and Roobet, are banned from being streamed or promoted on the site. The policy explicitly forbids streamers from showcasing content from these platforms or including links, affiliate codes, or promotional banners related to them. Rollbit also appears on Twitch’s list of Prohibited Branded Content.
This situation heightened anxiety among co-streamers, who feared they might receive community guideline strikes while broadcasting the event.

Guidelines on Sponsorship Presentation during Events
Twitch clarified that its gambling regulations focus on outright promotion and linking to restricted sites, rather than on the display of branding that appears on jerseys or stage signage during event broadcasts. However, it explicitly prohibits any verbal references to such sites during streams.
The community guidelines specify, “We forbid the sharing of links or affiliate codes related to platforms that offer slots, roulette, or dice games. This ban applies to direct streaming from those sites, linking in chat interfaces, or including banners that promote these sites. Notably, merely exhibiting physical branding does not contravene these terms.”
With this clarification, official streams will proceed without restriction, and co-streamers can broadcast the event as long as they remain compliant with Twitch’s gambling regulations.
Twitch emphasized, “Our community’s safety and well-being is our utmost priority, which is why we meticulously review gambling sponsorships to ensure they align with our policies.” The much-anticipated Major is set to kick off on November 24 and will be available for streaming on Twitch, Kick, and YouTube.
